On the train to St. Louis, Olivia and Elliot played a game of cards. Neither really knew what they were playing, but they kept making up more rules as they went along and laughed a lot when the other would get angry at a rule that they forget they created. It was over a 16-hour long train ride so they had plenty of time to waste. It was weird for them to have another person to talk to, and after Elliot and Olivia both talked about the darkest parts of their lives, they didn't need to worry about slipping up.
Olivia knew about how Elliot's mother was in the hospital for bipolar disorder and for depression. Elliot knew about the baby that Olivia gave up so she wasn't abused like Olivia was. They were growing close, but it didn't really scare each other.
"How many more hours?" Elliot asked as he looked out the window. Olivia grabbed his arm and looked at the old watch on his wrist.
"Elliot, we have ten hours left. Are you hungry?" Olivia asked, and Elliot nodded. She smiled, before reaching into her pocket and grabbing out a twenty.
"Here. Get us something to eat. I'll wait here." She spoke. Elliot took the money from her and walked away. Olivia sank down into her seat and pulled her phone out and saw a bulletin for a missing teen. Olivia opened it, before swallowing hard.
"I thought we could share this sandwich," Elliot spoke, as he handed Olivia a water bottle. She took it and looked at Elliot.
"Your Dad is looking for you." She whispered.
"What?!" He breathed.
"Look at this." She whispered as she handed him her phone. Elliot took it into his hand and read through the bulletin. He swallowed hard before looking at Olivia.
"Do you have any makeup?" He asked, and her eyes went wide.
"What?!"
"Make me look not like myself! Olivia, we can't be caught! If we are, we will have to go back to our parents." He whispered.
"Elliot..." She trailed off.
"Next stop we should get off and stay there! Or get a bus out of town." He spoke, and Olivia bit her lip.
"Just calm down, okay? They won't find us. And if someone notices us, we will figure something out."

Joseph sat in the Pittsburgh PD's main station as he filed a missing person's report. The officers had said that it hadn't been 48 hours yet, but Joseph said he'd sit there all day until they gave him the ability to file the report. They didn't want him there the whole time, so they gave in and let him report his son missing.
"What is your son's name?" A detective asked as he looked away from his computer.
"Elliot Joseph Stabler," Joseph spoke.
"Alright, age?"
"16," Joseph replied.
"Height? Eye color?"
"6 foot on the dot. Blue eyes." Joseph huffed. What would they ask next? His gender? If he was sexually active?
"Alright, do you have a current picture of him? We already sent out a bulletin, but we want to make it as detailed as possible.
"Okay. Yeah, uh, this is him this year in school." Joseph spoke, as he passed the picture to the detective, but then the detective passed it back.
"That says that it was his 5th-grade picture. Your son is 16." The detective spoke, which just made Joseph angry.
"Fuck off. Okay? My son is missing!" Joseph boomed.
"Sir, if you do not calm down, I will arrest you for being disorderly, do you understand?"
That pushed Joseph over the edge. He grabbed the detective by his collar and started to punch him. The detective tried to fight him off, but Joseph has major anger issues, clearly.
Eventually, a few officers pulled Joseph off of the barely alive detective and arrested him. Maybe they'd know now why Elliot ran away. Maybe they wouldn't look for him because they know he must get his ass kicked.

Elliot kept his head down and Olivia's beanie on while they got closer to St. Louis. Olivia kept trying to talk to Elliot, but he refused to talk because he didn't want to draw attention to them. Olivia could see how anxious Elliot was, and he kept bouncing his leg and biting his nails. It was driving Olivia nuts, but she felt bad because this was all her fault. If she hadn't looked out that window, then Elliot wouldn't be so nervous about his Dad trying to find him.
"I had really bad anxiety when I was pregnant," Olivia whispered because everyone around them was sleeping. Elliot didn't move his head, but he was listening.
"I got scared to death that my mom and her boyfriend would beat me until the baby died. That the one thing keeping me alive would be gone too. I got to the point where I locked my door every night and put a chair in front of it. I would have panic attacks when one of them would walk past my door in the middle of the night. It eased a bit when I was at school, but then I would get anxious that someone would notice, but thankfully, no one did." Olivia spoke. Elliot looked over at her and bit the inside of his cheek as he waited for her to continue.
"This will all get better, Elliot. He won't be able to get you where we end up. I'll make sure of that. You'll protect me, and I'll protect you. We will work together to get away from what once defined us. Okay? There will be no more bruises that cover our skin, and I won't be scared of getting pregnant by my mother's boyfriend again. You won't have to listen to all the nasty things your father says about you. And you will finally be able to believe that you weren't the reason why your mother left. And I'm not the reason my mother is the way she is."
"You never told me why your mother abuses you." Elliot mumbled.
"She was raped."
