Olivia and Elliot arrived in St. Louis and they were the last ones off the train. Elliot once again held Olivia's hand so they wouldn't get lost in the crowd, and they headed into the train station. Olivia quickly went to relieve herself because she hadn't left Elliot's side since she told him that his father was looking for him.
Once she got out of the bathroom, they walked over to decide where to go next. They both decided to try and get to Denver. That was far enough away that they didn't have to worry about their parents finding them.
"Alright, what can I help you with?" The person sitting in the ticket booth asked once Olivia and Elliot approached the booth.
"We need two tickets to Denver. Please, and thank you." Olivia spoke, as she got her wallet out.
"That will be $350." He smiled. But Olivia's expression fell. She didn't have enough money for the two tickets, and possibly even food and a place to stay when they get to Denver.
"Oh. Uh, are there any cheaper tickets?" Olivia asked, but the man shook his head.
"It'll still be near that for cheaper seats. Is there a closer place you want to go? I can check prices." He replied, and Olivia looked at Elliot before back at the man.
"We'll be back." She breathed, before grabbing Elliot's hand and leading him away from the line.
"What are we going to do, Liv?" Elliot asked, and she swallowed hard before handing Elliot her wallet.
"Take my money and get as far as you can. Okay?" She replied.
"No, Olivia. I'm not going without you. We made this plan. You and I are getting out of Manhattan, and we are out of there, we just need to get closer to the west coast." Elliot spoke, and he watched as Olivia's eyes welled with tears. She got onto her tiptoes and kissed Elliot. He kissed her back as tears ran down her cheeks.
"Are you sure?" She asked, as she stepped back and wiped the tears from her cheeks.
"I'm sure, Liv. Really, I am. So let's see where we can go that is closer."

They decided on Oklahoma City. It was only going to be $210 instead of $350. Elliot and Olivia got on the train that night and had another super long ride ahead of them, but at least they didn't have to split up, which was something neither of them wanted to do. But Olivia was willing to do that if it meant Elliot was safe. If he could get a new start.
They ignored the fact that they had shared their first kiss in the crowded train station in St. Louis, and they didn't talk about it at all on the train ride towards the new city they were going to call home until they can get enough money to head to the coast.
"How much money do you have left?" Elliot asked, as he shifted his jacket off and folded it up and placed it on his lap.
"About $123. You?" She asked.
"Barely any." He frowned. Olivia nodded.
"Well, we can get one meal while we are on this train. And it can be no more than $5. We have to find jobs as soon as we get into Oklahoma City." Olivia whispered. Elliot reached over and grabbed her hand and squeezed it gently.
"We can do this, Liv. Uh, I'll get as many jobs as I need to to make sure we don't have to go back."
"I can never go back, Elliot. If I do, they will kill me and I can't die before I meet Avery."
"Did the parents let you name her?" Elliot asked, and Olivia nodded slowly.
"Yeah. Avery Mae." Olivia breathed, before looking over at him.
"Did you want to give her up? Or did they make you?" Elliot asked, because they had like 15 hours to waste, and he didn't want to sleep the whole time.
"I told you that my mother didn't believe me. She didn't believe that I was pregnant even when I went into labor. So, I gave Avery up. I got in contact with a very good family through an adoption agency. We met up and they offered to pay for my medical bills and such, which I declined. They were perfect and they had tried to have kids for almost ten years, but they couldn't have a baby. They were there when I gave birth to Avery, and they let me hold her before they did and I got to nurse her until they took her home. It was horrible when they took her away, but I had chances to hold her and tell her that I loved her so I guess it made it easier." Olivia sighed softly.
"How old is she?" Elliot asked, and Olivia smiled as she reached into her purse and grabbed the photo album.
"She is 1. Uh, I actually got this the day we left. Her parents sent it to me." Olivia spoke, as she passed the picture to Elliot. He smiled as the looked at the little girl.
"She is like the spitting image of you." Elliot laughed, and Olivia smiled.
"She is, and she's so sweet. Her parents write me letters and I brought those all. But like, they told me when she got her first tooth, and when she said her first word, what her favorite foods are. They are keeping me in the loop, even if I'm no longer her mother."
"See, but Liv, you will always be her mother. Like even if my mother doesn't take care of me, she'll always be my mom." Elliot spoke, and Olivia nodded in agreement.
"Let's talk about other stuff. Like, your siblings?"
"What do you want to know about them?" He questioned.
"Well, how much older are they than you?"
"My sister, Michelle, is 4 years older than me. Then it goes up a year from there. My mom left us when I was 10, but my father didn't get bad until Michelle left. After she was gone, the abuse started. It's like he blamed me for being born because I was a surprise baby."
"Same." Olivia laughed. Elliot grinned before bringing her hand to his lips and kissed it gently.
"You know, I've missed your laugh. You giggled all the time when we were younger."
"It was my coverup. People won't notice the bruises and the fact that I often times had ripped tights."
"We are on a train out still, Liv. And I promise to help you as long as you promise to help me."
