Olivia walked out of the bedroom nearly an hour after Avery had fallen asleep. Olivia looked at Elliot who was sitting on the couch with Cane and Violet.

"Is she asleep?" Violet asked, and Olivia nodded slowly.

"Yeah. Uh, El can I talk to you real quick?" Olivia asked, and Elliot nodded.

"Of course." He replied.

Olivia and Elliot walked into the kitchen and Olivia stood next to the sink before looking at her boyfriend.

"El, I want her." Olivia whimpered.

"You want her?" Elliot questioned.

"I want Avery... I don't want them to go home with her... I feel like this was a mistake because I don't think that I can let my baby go home with them when I know she belongs here with us." Olivia breathed. She felt tears well in her eyes, as Elliot walked towards her. Elliot drew his girlfriend close before kissing her hair gently.

"I know that this is hard for you, Liv. But you gave her up for adoption because you knew that she would be better off with Violet and Cane. I know you want her here, but she is going to have to go home and be with her parents. But I'm sure that you and her can spend more time together in the years to come." Elliot breathed.

"She asked me if we were going to have a baby... will I really be able to love her as much as I will love our future baby?" Olivia breathed.

"You will because they are both your kids. Now, I think it would be wise for you to go lay down and nap with her. I'll talk to Violet and Cane and explain to them what you are feeling."

"Then they will never let me be in contact with her again."

While Olivia napped with Avery, Elliot sat with Avery's parents and talked.

"So, Liv is so excited about having Avery here." Elliot breathed, as he sat his mug of coffee down on the table.

"Avery has been talking about meeting her Momma Liv for the last month... they are like each other's other half." Violet smiled softly, as she looked at Elliot.

"Liv is going to have such a hard time letting Avery go back to Manhattan..."

"Elliot-" Cane started, but Elliot stopped him.

"She wants Avery to stay here. She knows that Avery can't stay here, but she wishes that she could. Do you think that maybe there could be some times where we could watch Avery or come out and see her more often?" Elliot asked.

"We love Avery so much, and we know that at the time Olivia knew she should give up the baby because she was in a bad place and where she lived was no place for a baby... but we can tell she is in a good place now," Violet spoke, and Elliot eyed her.

"She is... that is why we both want to be a part of Avery's life." Elliot breathed.

"Elliot, there was a part of the adoption agreement where we could decide if we wanted Olivia to be a bigger part of Avery's life than we are." Cane spoke.

"Wait... what? You guys adopted Avery and are her parents. Olivia is her bio mom, but she doesn't have any rights to her... right?" Elliot asked.

"While she was pregnant and we got to know her more, she talked about what her life was going to be like. How she either wanted to be a doctor or a cop. How she wanted to get out of Manhattan and own a house without wheels underneath it. She really had a plan and we could tell that she was going to succeed... so when we were filing for adoption, we talked to our lawyers and we decided that if Olivia got to the point in her life when she was ready to be a mother, that we'd let her be Avery's mother." Violet breathed, and Elliot saw as tears welled in her eyes.

"So this trip was to see if we were fit to take care of Avery?" Elliot asked, and Violet nodded slowly as she looked at Cane.

"It is. And we know that you two are ready. Honestly, even though we love Avery so very much, we think that she'll be better off with her biological mother and you. We were scared at first, but then you came to Manhattan and met us and told us about Olivia... we really knew that this is what was meant to happen. That we could actually make sure that Avery got reunited with her mother."

After Avery woke up, Violet and Cane went back to their hotel room to grab some things. So Olivia and Elliot were left at the house with Avery.

"Momma?" Avery asked, from where she and Olivia sat on the floor next to the coffee table and drew together.

"Yeah?" Olivia asked as she smiled. She still couldn't believe that Avery is so willing to call her Momma and not Liv or Olivia.

"My Mommy and Daddy said that I'm staying here now. Is that true?" Avery asked, and Olivia's eyes shot up and looked at the small girl.

"What? You are going home with your parents... in a few days. Right? Elliot?" Olivia questioned quickly, as she looked over at her boyfriend.

"Actually, there is something that they want to talk to you about when they get back... it's about Avery staying with us." Elliot breathed, and Olivia felt like she was going to pass out. It's just like she was hit by a bus and all of this confused her completely.

"She can't stay with us because I gave her up for adoption," Olivia whispered, as Avery continued to scrawl on the piece of paper in front of her.

"Let me explain-"

"I'm not supposed to be her mother! I gave her up, and even if I want her so bad, she is legally their child!" Olivia cried, before standing up and running into the bedroom. She slammed the door shut, and Avery jumped before looking at Elliot.

Olivia listened carefully to what Violet and Cane told her. But even if she found out that they had adopted Avery to help Olivia until she was ready to get her daughter back, she was still confused about why they were so ready and willing to just give Avery back to her.

"Aren't you going to miss her? And like, are you still going to want to see her?" Olivia asked.

"We still want to see her. Maybe for the holidays and her birthday, we could come out here and celebrate?" Violet asked.

"Yeah... that would be okay... so you just adopted her because you wanted to help me out? You didn't do it because you wanted a child?"

"We did want a baby. We wanted Avery so much, but we could see that you wanted her too. So we decided that being parents doesn't mean that we would have Avery for her whole life. It just means that we would be able to take care of her while she was with us."

"You don't have to do this," Olivia whispered as she heard Elliot and Avery laugh from where they were outside in the snow.

"We are doing this for you and for Avery. You two are meant to be together."
