While Joseph sat in a cell in Pittsburgh, Olivia and Elliot started their jobs. Elliot didn't like leaving Olivia behind at the gas station near the cheap hotel they got, and Olivia was wondering what Elliot might do with the time he had to himself today.

"I'll come get you when your shift is done and we can walk back together." Elliot spoke, as they came to a stop outside of the gas station. Olivia nodded as she looked at him. He smiled at her and that helped calm her nerves a bit, but not as much as kissing him probably would. Olivia tugged on the shirt they gave her yesterday and she sighed.

"One month and we will be out of here, okay?"

"I know. I can't wait to be out of here." He spoke, before stepping forward and placing his hands to her waist. Olivia swallowed hard, before hugging him tightly.

"Have fun today. Don't do anything I wouldn't do, okay?"

"So I can try and wear heavy eyeliner?" He laughed, and Olivia sighed before leaning back and kissing his cheek gently.

"Bye, El. I'll see you at 5."

Olivia turned and opened the door to the gas station before walking in, her head held high and her shoulders squared. Elliot could still see that her hands were shaking a bit because this is her first job, and the first day was going to be the hardest.

"I need to walk away. I can't stay here all day to protect her." Elliot mumbled to himself, before turning and slowly walking down the sidewalk. He wanted to be there with her and make sure no one says something mean to her, but they would never get out of Oklahoma City if he didn't.

The gas station wasn't incredibly busy the first day. Olivia mostly swept and mopped the floor. But in between the cleaning, so stood at the cash register while her coworkers sold cigarretes and booze to customers, she watched the news with the captions on.

"Did you hear about that detective that was murdered in his own squad room in Pittsburgh?" An older woman questioned, as she sat a few items in front of Olivia. Olivia looked at her and shook her head.

"No. I didn't. What happened?" Olivia questioned, as she looked at the cheat sheet she had wrote down everything she needed to know, before starting to scan the items.

"A man with the last name Stabler or something like that was reporting his son missing, but when the detective made him angry or something, he killed him." The woman frowned, before picking up a newspaper and showing Olivia the mug shot on the front page. The murder happened in a different state, but it seemed like a huge deal even here.

"That is horrible. Uh, your total comes to $5.63." Olivia spoke, and the woman pulled out her wallet and handed Olivia some money. Olivia gave the woman her change before telling her to have a good day.

"It's your break, Liv. You can take it in the back or head home or something. Be back in half an hour." The manager spoke, and Olivia nodded.

"Okay, thanks."

Olivia actually ran back to the hotel. She quickly unlocked the door before finding Elliot reading a book that Olivia had packed.

"El?" Olivia questioned, and he looked at her and smiled.

"Did you miss me?"

"Kinda, but uh, your Dad killed a detective." She breathed.

"What?" Elliot questioned, and Olivia took the newspaper over to him. She had grabbed it from one of the free piles outside of the hotel's front office.

"He was reporting you as missing, and he killed the detective that was trying to help him."

"Oh my god. Fuck!" Elliot exclaimed, as he pulled the newspaper from her hands before skimming the article on the front of the newspaper.

"What are you going to do?" Olivia breathed, as she sank down beside him and placed her hand on his leg. Elliot let the newspaper fall from his hands and it slipped to the carpeted floor.

"I'm not going to do anything." Elliot breathed.

"What about your siblings? Should you-"

"We aren't calling anyone who is related to us, Olivia! No one. My mom is in the hospital and my siblings have lifes of their own. We are here together, and they don't matter anymore. I feel horrible that the detective got killed because of me, but we are 16 year olds in the middle of Oklahoma City who left because we were getting abused."

"Okay." She whispered.

"Okay? You aren't going to try and change my mind?" Elliot huffed, and Olivia moved her hand from his leg before sighing.

"You need some time to cool down. I'm going to head back to the gas station. Don't come down to walk me back here." Olivia mumbled. She picked up the newspaper and crumpled it up before throwing it in the waste basket. She opened the door to the hotel before slamming it behind her.

When Olivia got back to the hotel room after work, Elliot wasn't there anymore. She found a note from him saying that he was sorry for snapping at her, and that he'd be back in the morning after his shift at a restaurant.

He had gotten a job busing tables and cleaning up after hours, and because no one else wanted to do that, he got a decently sized paycheck for what he did.

Olivia walked over and pulled the newspaper from the waste basket before reading the article from beginning to end. Joseph was going to be charged with the brutal murder of the detective, and it even said that the widow was going to talk in front of the jury.

Olivia didn't know how Elliot would be able to deal with this all. She was wishing that she hadn't told him about what the old lady said, but it made more sense for him to find out through her than find out through some random ass person who was talking about it.

Olivia grabbed her phone and dialed the number for one of the detectives in Pittsburgh. They were looking for more things to charge Joseph with, and she wanted to help. She wasn't going to say her name, but she was going to tell them about what Joseph used to do to Elliot.
