Hey, I know you have an early flight so I thought I'd make you breakfast. The kids are still sleeping. We could always go for round two" Saddiq whispers to me. "I'd love that but you know I can't miss my flight. Looking at the time, I'll have to take my breakfast with me to the airport. How about this, since mom is coming over today, why don't you sweet talk her into keeping the kids for the weekend. Tell her you need to make a business run and instead you fly to New York. You can watch my presentation and we can have a little quality time together. I'll give you anything you want, daddy. You just say the word" I tell Saddiq as I firmly grab ahold of his manhood through his pajama pants. "It's a deal. I'll see you in a few hours" he says slapping me on the ass. I grab my bags and head to my car. We say our last goodbyes and then I'm on my way.
"Have you seen my husband?" I ask Carrie. Carrie's my 21 year old intern. She's the best and expecting nothing less from her. "No, ma'am. I tried sending a text and even calling as you requested but nothing" she says. I take the phone from her and dial Saddiq again. It rings, rings, and rings....he picks up! "Saddiq, babe, where are you? I thought you'd be here" I say looking around for him in the crowd. "I know...I know...something came up and it's a must I handle it now. I swear I'll make it up to you, Mo. I promise" he says ending our call. Like a big kid, I pout but I know I have to pull it together. I've got a super important gig today. Graduating with a Master's in Public Relations, I've worked my way to my dream. I'm a public speaker...well motivational speaker for women and men of all ages. People come from all around to listen to me...they buy my books...my audio tapes...tune in to my YouTube segments....hell they even watch me on TV! I'm not saying all of this to brag, I just love what I do.
In just under two hours, I deliver my presentation to a group of over 500 and now it's time for Q&A. With an hour to do Q&A, time is quickly winding down for me. The mic is passed from person to person...some with great questions and some with plain stupid ones. I'd never tell them that though. Then someone grabs the mic and says "You didn't think I'd forget about our 10th wedding anniversary, did you?" Because the lights are shining bright on stage, it's hard for me to see out into certain areas of the crowd. I finally focus my eyes on the person speaking and it's Saddiq! I can't do anything but smile. He walks up the center aisle to the stage with an arm full of roses and a hand full of balloons. He hands me my roses and balloons and then takes me into his arms and kisses me passionately. For a moment, I forget where we are and I'm damn near in freak mode. "Yeeaaaahh! Get her, maaan" a guy hollers from the crowd. We pull away and just smile from embarrassment. We both turn toward the crowd and wave. Saddiq's grip loosens from my hand. I look to my right and he's not standing anymore. He's on the ground...there's blood running from the right side of his head. I look down at my white dress and there's blood spatter everywhere. I drop to my knees and yell "Saaaddiiiqqq" but he doesn't respond. Holding my husband in my arms, I look out into the crowd and everyone gets in a panic...not knowing which way to turn. In the midst of all the panic, the police and paramedics arrive and pry me away from Saddiq. Everything seems to be moving in slow motion. I hear police yelling to one another in different directions to ha e the building placed on lockdown. I watch as they work to try and save him with no avail. Over all of the madness, I hear a paramedic say "He's gone. Time of death 13:52." In total shock and temporary paralysis, I just watch as they pull a sheet over Saddiq and wait for the coroner to arrive.
