Chapter 3:
ELIZABETH'S POV
It was another boring day at Scotland Yard. Lestrade and Donovan were out on a case which left Anderson alone. Which apparently meant it was time for him to bother me.
"So, I haven't asked yet. Do you have a boyfriend?" He leaned in my office doorway. "Maybe we could head out of here and go to a pub."
"Didn't you ask me this yesterday and I said no?"
"Oh, come on. One drink won't hurt." He shot me a smirk. "We'll have a good time."
I tossed down my paper work, letting out an irritated sigh. "Alright, since you're having a hard time comprehending this. One, I know you have a wife at home who you don't mind cheating on. Two, it is rather obvious that you're having an affair with Sally Donovan. I can smell her perfume on you right now. Having inter-office relations never end well. And third, I do not have a boyfriend and if you think that I would go out with someone like you, you're very wrong." A dumbfounded and irritated look was spread across his face. "Now if you'll excuse me I'm going on my lunch break."
I stood up, grabbing my purse as he scoffed loudly. "You're just like Holmes. No one is going to put up with that."
All I did was roll my eyes. Having left Scotland Yard I went to a small cafe across town to get myself lunch. I had just sat down when my phone rang.
"Yes Lestrade?"
"Liz, I just got a call from Sherlock. There's been a murder. I kind of have my hands full at the moment. I'm putting Dimmock on the case and I want you to go with him."
I let out a loud groan. "Dimmock, really? Him?"
"Just go with it. He said he'll meet you over there. Keep me updated. I just sent you the address. " He then hung up.
Getting into my car I went to check the address before calling Sherlock.
"What Elizabeth? I'm rather busy."
"Well hello to you to. I just called to tell you I'm on my way over. Lestrade has another case so it'll be me with Detective Inspector Dimmock."
"No Gary today?" He sounded surprised. "And what are you doing working with other inspectors?"
"Lestrade wanted me to accompany him on the case. Dimmock's a bit of a tosser, fair warning."
He let out a groan causing me to giggle. "How long until you're here?"
"I'm pulling onto the street now. Be up in a minute." I then parked my car and made my way up to the flat.
"I'm impressed how quickly you got here." Sherlock stated as he looked around the flat.
"I was on my lunch when Lestrade called."
"Enjoying your new job at Scotland Yard then?" John asked.
"For the most part. It's not as exciting as things before but it's something. Most of them there are idiots. Especially Anderson. If he hits on me one more time I swear.."
"He did what to you?" Sherlock quickly turned around.
"He keeps trying to get me to go to a pub with him and always asks if I have a boyfriend." I shook my head. "I keep turning him down. I don't want to get involved in his cheating circle." I walked over to Van Coon, looking over the scene. "So, he's been shot in the head but I'm guessing it's not a suicide."
"Correct. Van Coon was left handed bu-"
"But the bullet came in through the right side of his head. Someone wanted to make it look like a suicide but didn't think it through."
