ELIZABETH'S POV
The day has finally arrived. Sherlock and I are finally getting married today. With the abundance of cases lately I had worried that we'd have to push it back at the last minute, but both Lestrade and Mycroft made sure to take care of any cases they felt were too time consuming.
We had decided to have the wedding in a hall at a manor house in South London. Violet had done most of that arranging, being beyond excited that her little boy was finally getting married. There were only to be about ten people. The usual crowd; Mrs. Hudson, Lestrade, Molly, Anderson and Donovan (much to Sherlock's dismay), Mycroft, his assistant Anthea (I felt bad if Myc came along and since there's no 'goldfish' in his life I made him bring her), Violet, Siger. Violet had also invited a friend of hers along. Sadly no one from my family was coming, not that I expected anyone to come. Part of me had hoped that Harry would actually put things behind us and come...but of course she wouldn't.
Also to my surprise about two weeks ago I had gotten a call from Ana's mum. We hadn't spoken since I woke up after the accident and found out she had passed. She had called to tell me that she had heard the news of my engagement and was thrilled for me. After talking with her for a couple of hours, I had invited she and Mr. Powell to the wedding.
Now it was just Molly and I getting ourselves ready. Mrs. Hudson and Violet, beyond excited that the day has arrived, continuously peeked their heads in to check on us.
"You look beautiful, Liz." Molly said as she finished with my hair.
"Thank you." I smiled. "Thank you for everything, really. I don't think I'd be able to get through today without you."
"Oh, I'm so happy to be here! And I'm honoured that you asked me to be your maid of honour."
"You're my best friend, of course you'd be my maid of honour." I stood up and hugged her.
She smiled. "Now let's get you in that dress!"
JOHN'S POV"Can I talk to you for a minute?"
"Is this your last minute 'you're about I marry my sister, so we need to talk' speech, John?" Sherlock asked as he practiced his song on the violin for the reception.
"It's not a speech." I grumbled. "Maybe it is, but I just want to make sure that you're ready for this. She is my sister and I want the world for her."
He put his violin down and sat across from me. "I know I may not be the best person and most people do not like me, but as you've noticed Elizabeth and I get along exceptionally well. As I've told her, when I'm around her I'm different. I care about her, John, more than anything."
"I know you do, I just want to protect her.. She's been through so much, I just want her to be happy."
"And you don't think she'll be happy with me?"
I began to panic. This is not going as I thought it would in my head. "W-What? I-I. No. I mean yes.."
He let out a chuckle, giving me his usual smirk. "You're fine, John. I understand your concern. Today I'm going to make a vow to protect her and love her from this day forward. I plan on keeping the vow."
"That's all I ask." I then stood up and straighten out my suit. "I'm going to go see Lizzie. I'll see you down there."
He gave me a small nod. I began to walk out of the room until I heard him call my name.
"John?"
I turned around. "Yes, Sherlock?"
"Your baby sister is going to be safe with me. I promise."
