Chapter 5:
SHERLOCK'S POV
It was such a boring day. Lord, days like these drive me completely mad. I need a murder. A good, exciting murder. I slumped back in my chair and picked up my gun, shooting at the wall.
"What the bloody hell is going on here?" Elizabeth yelled as she walked in.
"Bored."
"What?"
"Bored!" I yelled, jumping out of my chair as I shot the wall again. "Bored!"
"You shoot walls when you get bored?" She asked.
"Obviously. What are you doing here?"
"I'm working from home today."
"I don't blame you. It must be horrid to work at the same place as Anderson."
"I try to steer clear of he and Donovan." She walked over and took the gun from my hand, aiming it at the wall. "So, this really does amuse you when you're bored?" She then proceeded to shoot the wall twice. "Bored!" She smirked and turned to me. "You're right, this is enjoyable."
"Sherlock, what are you doing?!" John came running in as he stared at his sister. "Lizzie?"
"Sherlock and I were bored." She shot again. I couldn't help but admire her slightly. She was very different from John.
He snatched the gun out of her hands and he turned to me. "No cases?"
"Obviously." I fell back on the couch. "I see you wrote up our case. A Study in Pink."
"Yes, well you know.." John shrugged.
"Between you two Watsons you're not the best writer, John. Your sister has done impressive work, I've looked up some of her articles."
"Did you just give her a compliment?" John asked, his face full of shock.
"Oh, well thank you, Sherl." I saw her face blush lightly.
"Right..well while you two flirt, I'm going to get some air." John stood up and quickly walked out of the flat. He felt so uncomfortable by all of this, it's quite amusing to watch.
"I appreciate what you've done with him." Elizabeth stood up walked over to the window. "After Afghanistan he needed something. I know the whole thing messed with his head, so I'm glad to see him back at it with something."
"Yes, he's made a large improvement since I first met him." I stood up and walked towards her. "You two are rather different. I'm still very surprised about that."
"John and I have always had different interests." She leaned against the window frame. "He wasn't fond of me traveling for my work, but I do enjoy going out there to write and investigate. It's good to be back at it."
I nodded lightly. Before I could respond there was a large explosion, causing the two of us to crash to the ground.
I groaned and grabbed my head. Well, that was interesting. I stood up and brushed off my clothes.
"Alright, now that that's over, I'm heading to bed. Goodnight, Elizabeth."
There was no response.
"Elizabeth?" I turned to her to find her unconscious. Her head was bleeding, some blood splattered on the fireplace from the fall. I went over and picked her up, carrying her to her bedroom. Laying her in bed I grabbed the medical kit and took care of the bash on her head.
