Chapter 21: 20th Ward Raid

Anteiku, 20th Ward......
Shinohara and Kuroiwa watched with their quinques and Arata armors in full regalia. They watched as the friendly manager of the coffee shop looked at them coldly before morphing into red and white armor that still sent shivers down their spines.
"We can't still talk about this." Shinohara reasoned. The Owl nodded as spiked wings sprouted from his back.
"Maybe so," The Owl's metallic voice said. "But, I am well beyond redemption."
The Owl sent a hail of red shards as the soldiers raised their shields while the two veteran investigators raised their quinques to block. The entire first line of soldiers disappeared as the shards ripped through their shields and tore through the armor like paper. The two watched this jumped to the side as the Owl slammed a bladed limb to the ground.
"If you plan on killing me, you'll have to be faster." The Owl commented as he sent a hail of spikes into the force of soldiers. Shinohara nodded to Kuroiwa and attacked together. Their weapons clashed with his bladed limbs as he pushed them back and sent a hail of spikes both ways, prompting them to block. As three fought a siren was heard throughout the Ward as the soldiers tensed. In the middle of the force, Amon, Akira, and Takizawa tensed before there was a chorus of yells as dozens if not hundreds of figures jumped from the roof with their kagune flaring to life.
"All units, split up!" Amon ordered as he dodged a swing a proceeded in a direction with his men following. Akira dodged a swipe and decapitated a hooded attacker with her whip blade. Takizawa blocked a strike with the barrel of his quinque rifle before kicking the ghoul back and firing several rounds into the ghoul's chest.
"All units, this the commander. Split up and secure the 20th Ward. Investigators, lead your men through the streets and exterminate the ghoul threat."

Shinohara blocked a heavy strike that staggered him as he spun around a cut the Owl across the back only to see the cut heal a second later. The Owl regarded him before rushing in a burst of speed and slamming into him. Shinohara flew backwards into a car crumpling the side as he coughed a bit and saw Kuroiwa blocking the bladed limbs.
'He's not holding back on us. We'll someone who can match his speed. Can't afford the enhanced mode of these armors without risking our health.' He thought as he rushed froward and delivered a slash to the Owl's leg before twisting and delivering another cut to the torso before blocking an overhead slash. Kuroiwa dashed from the side and sliced off a bladed limb as the Owl jumped back and sent a hail of shards at them. They blocked as more ghouls appeared from the rooftops dressed in the Aogiri cloaks as they descended on the Raiding Force. Shinohara looked to Kuroiwa who was eyeing the Owl who had grown back the limb.
"He's regenerating faster than we can cut him down." Shinohara said as the Owl looked at them and slowly walked towards them.
"Right. We need to be faster, but using the enhanced armor form will probably kill us." Kuroiwa replied as the Owl took one more step before dashing towards them. Just as the two blocked his strike a loud yell was heard as several red cloaked ghouls were sliced in half as the white-haired demon of CCG entered the fight with a terrifying grin on his face.
"Hi everyone!" He yelled out enthusiastically. Shinohara chuckled lightly as he and Kuroiwa pushed the Owl back before slashing him across the chest and kicking him back. Juuzuo landed next to them with his scythe in a reverse hold as he grinned at the Owl who tensed.
"Kuroiwa and I will keep his attention on us. Slice him up every chance you get." Shinohara said as Juuzuo grinned and dashed to the side as Owl focused on her only to cross his blade limbs to block a collective strike from the two veteran investigators.

With Amon......
Amon dodged a tailed ghoul as he bisected him with a strike from Kura as he rolled out a bladed kagune strike. The ghoul was peppered with bullets from his men as he nodded to them and proceeded forward.
"Push! Do not give them a chance to recover!" He yelled.

With Kaneki......
He casually walked down an alley as his kagune was swishing calmly behind him. Behind him on the floor were several soldiers with their weapons destroyed sporting several bruises.
"Better go find Kaya and Enji." He remarked before making his way to the area near Anteiku.
