I was sitting on a hill, belonging to a grassy field. The sun was shining and birds were chirping. There were no signs of urban roads in the area. The whole scene looked like it was taken straight out of a fairytale.

"Why do you think Dylan's going to hurt you?" I noticed that there was a small red-headed fairy in a sparkly purple dress sitting beside me on the hill. Wow, maybe I really AM in a fairytale.

I shrugged. "I don't know."

"Are you sure that you think that it'll be YOU getting hurt?" The fairy asked.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean; are you sure that you don't feel like you'll be hurting someone else?" She said.

"Like who?"

Then, in an instant flash, I was back at home; in my living room. It was quiet and empty. The TV wasn't on and I was just sitting there on the couch.

I heard the doorbell ring, so I got up to see who it was. When I opened the door, I saw Jack with a look of hurt in his eyes.

"Skye." He said. I didn't say anything.

"Skye." He said again.'

"Skye, Skye wake up." I slowly opened my eyes to the sound of my mom's voice.

I smiled up at her. "Good morning."

"Good morning honey. I made breakfast, so wash up and come downstairs." She said.

I nodded and sat up in my bed as she walked out of the room. I decided to take a quick shower before going downstairs.

I stripped my clothes off and stepped into the hot shower. I couldn't help but think about that dream. It was weird. I mean, why would Jack randomly show up at my door looking hurt?

Then I remembered what the fairy said right before I saw him: I mean, are you sure that you don't feel like you'll be hurting someone else?

That's right...Jack likes me. I nearly forgot.

Ugh, how the hell am I going to tell him about Dylan and I now? I mean, I told him a month ago that I wasn't ready for a relationship so now I'll look like a lying bitch. And I can't keep this from him either; Jack's an amazing guy and he deserves nothing but the truth.

I shook the thoughts out of my head; I was in no mood to think about stuff like this. I felt like I was on top of the world right now, and it was all because of Dylan. This can wait.

I turned the shower off and stepped out, grabbing a towel off the handle. I wrapped it around my body and walked into my room to get some clothes.

Once I was dressed, I left my hair to dry naturally and went downstairs.

My parents were at the table quietly chatting. "Good morning." I said.

"Good morning honey." My dad said.

I sat down and grabbed two pancakes from the plate in the center.

"So you and Dylan seemed to be having a good time last night." My mom said.

I nodded slowly and tried not to make eye contact. I really didn't want to blush in front of them.

"He's a great kid." My dad said, a smile playing on his lips.

I nodded slowly again, not really sure of why they were suddenly bringing him up.

"So I would be happy if you and him were..." My dad's thoughts trailed off.

I took this time to dramatically sigh. "Okay, Dylan and I are going out."

My mom smiled. "I'm glad that the two of you are finally getting along." I cocked an eyebrow at her. "Oh come on, the entire neighbourhood could tell that the two of you weren't too fond of each other."
