"Good morning sweet heart." My mom said as I slowly walked into the kitchen. I was dressed and ready for school.
I looked at her and muttered a good morning in response. I then took a glass of orange juice to the table where she had set my breakfast up for me. My dad was reading the newspaper.
"Come on, are you really still mad at us because Kyle will be staying in your room?" My mom asked.
"No mom. Having my ex boyfriend, which, by the way, my relationship didn't end so well with, is just great! I mean, what could possibly go wrong?" I said with deep sarcasm. My parents didn't know why exactly Kyle and I broke up so I cleverly avoided that. I didn't want to ruin their friendship with his parents.
My mom sighed and rolled her eyes. "You're so dramatic. Have you ever thought about auditioning for your school play?"
"Ha ha. Very funny mom." I said, pulling a spoonful of cereal to my mouth. "But seriously, this house is huge! We can put him in the office or that room with a bunch of unused exercise machines that dad calls his home gym."
My dad glared at me. "For your information, I use that equipment twice a week. Sometimes three times." My dad wasn't fat or anything. He was average, but I just love messing with him. "And where exactly would we put all of that equipment?"
"In the basement?" I suggested.
My dad shook his head. "We're going to have to take apart the majority of the machines to do that."
"Well we still have the office." I said.
"There's no room in the office." My mom said. "Honey, please don't make this complicated. If your father and I figure anything out then we'll get on it. But for now you're just going to have to share your room with Kyle."
I finished my cereal in silence and got up. I put the bowl in the sink and went to the door. "Bye." I called out.
"Love you!" They called from the kitchen.
"Yeah you too." I muttered. I grabbed my keys and opened the door, some what slamming it behind me.
I quickly shrugged my shoulders up and put my head down at the sudden gust of freezing wind. I fumbled with my keys, trying to get into my car as fast as possible.
"Skye!" I turned around and saw Dylan walking down his steps. I smiled at his way and waited until he was in front of me. "Good morning beautiful."
My heart skipped about ten beats at the word beautiful. I don't think a guy has ever called me that before. It was a nice change from 'hot' and 'sexy'.
"Good morning." I answered.
He looked down at my hands where I was holding my keys. "Why don't we just go to school together?" He asked with his eyebrow cocked up.
"I thought you didn't want to raise any suspicion." I said.
He seemed confused at first but then the look on his face changed to the look of realization. "Oh, that's right. Well, where's the suspicion in two neighbours carpooling to school?"
A small smile crept on my face as I followed him to his drive way where his car was parked.
I got into the passenger seat and he got into the driver's seat. He sat there for a moment, just looking at me.
"What?" I asked.
He chuckled. "You look like Rudolph." He said, referring to my red nose.
I glared at him. "Shut up."
He held his hands up in defense. "Hey, it's cute!"
I rolled my eyes, a smile forming on my lips. "Just drive."
