Cold shoulders

When Kovu cane back from the waterhole, he saw Kiara and Vitani lying in the grass with Pricilla.
"Good evening ladies," he said smiling.
Kiara grinned and padded over to nuzzle under his neck in an affectionate manner.
"Hi honey where were you?" she asked innocently.
Kovu shifted uncomfortably as he remembered his affair with Cindy. Not wanting to show his discomfort, he licked Kiara's cheek and nuzzled her.
"Just to the waterhole. The afternoon is rather hot, don't you agree?"
Kiara nodded and went back to little Pricilla who was lying peacefully still in Vitani's paws, very much awake.
"Honey, daddy is back," said Kiara nuzzling the tiny cub with her nose. Pricilla meowed and tried to climb out of  Vitani's paws but Vitani held onto her.
"Woah pumpkin, easy," said Vitani.
Kovu looked at her and smiled.
"Aww baby, daddy wish you could come with me to meet mommy. But I can't risk it," said Kovu to himself.
"Ooo, look at my little boo boo," said Marisa coming up from behind. Kiara laughed.
"She's sooo cute," said Marisa sitting down next to Kovu.
Everyone agreed.
"Kiara? Where are you?"
The four turned around and saw Diana and Burnt Eboney coming up.
"Hi Mom hi Dad," said Marisa.
They nodded and when they saw Kovu next to Pricilla their faces turned stone cold.
"Kovu," said Diana lowly.
"Yes Mom?" he replied.
"Did you go to the waterhole?" she asked.
Kovu stiffened.
"I did,"
"Was anyone else with you by chance?" asked his father coldly.
"N no, just me," he said nervously.
They looked at each other then at him.
"Is something wrong? What did he do?" asked Vitani.
"That is between Kiara, Kovu and us," stated her mother firmly.
Marisa and Kovu were taken aback. They've never heard their mother so cold before; this was a first.
Kovu swallowed hard and prayed they wouldn't say anything. He couldn't afford to let anyone else know about the relationship he had with Cindy and Pricilla.
" I'll have to let Vitani and Marisa know about us, it's only them I can trust" he thought silently.
After shooting their son a savagely cold glare, Diana and her husband left and went into Scar's old cave.
Kovu looked at his sisters and received a What the hell is going on? look. "Later," he mouthed.
They shrugged and looked back to Kiara who was fortunately too busy with Pricilla to notice the unpleasant exchange.
"Kiara?" Nala called from the den.
"Coming," she said getting up.
She picked up Pricilla and walked into the den.
Vitani and Marisa got up and followed Kovu towards the northern waterhole, itching to get more information as to why their parents were suddenly giving their brother the cold shoulder treatment.
