Chapter 5

Bowling. Not something I was good at nor did I enjoy for that matter. I hated that I needed to wear shoes that other people already put their feet in. I also had to stick my fingers in holes that my fingers barely even fit in. To top it off, I always seemed to roll gutter balls and never actually hit a pin. It was annoying, but I was here because my friends were and that's enough to get me to do something I don't really want to.

We were already here anyway so I had to make the best of it. Violet and I were in line to get our sweaty shoes while Cole and Carson started chatting it up with their teammates. Some cheerleaders were here surrounding them as well and it annoyed me. With them around it would really be hard to get their attention this way. Besides that, we also had Maisie and Kora to worry about too and they were trouble enough. Jealously was seriously an ugly thing.

To our dismay, Maisie and Kora decided that they would stand behind us in line. Of course this wouldn't turn out very pretty, but it was their mission to try and get under our skin 26/9.

Maisie tapped my shoulder and I regrettably turn around.

"What is it now?" I asked her with annoyance in my tone and body language. She wasn't who I wanted to be talking to.

She frowned at me and crossed her arms. "I just want you to know that pretty soon I'm going to have Carson wrapped around my finger." She was serious, but of course I didn't take her seriously.

I scoffed. "Please, you know he doesn't like girls with the kind of attitudes you have so good luck with that." I said. "You might want to go through a reality check before trying to steal Carson from me."

She laughed and shook her head. "Don't say I didn't warn you, Savannah. Just watch." She urged then walked away.

I don't know what she was planning on doing, but it wasn't anything good that's for sure. I kind of just ignored her and got my nasty ass shoes I had to wear in order to bowl. I don't even know why I was getting these anyway. I couldn't bowl to began with. I would probably just sit and eat the whole time being here. Probably have a few drinks and enjoy my friends. I wasn't going to let this night get ruined by idle threats I knew she couldn't make come true anyway.

Putting that behind me, I smiled and after I got a couple drinks in me, I found myself mingling with others. There wasn't any sign of Maisie around and I made sure I always looked over at Carson who would smile at me every time I did. I don't know why I was so worried anyway. I was actually having a good time. There was no need for me to keep being paranoid about something not needing to be paranoid about. Carson would never fall for her anyway.

Forgetting about it, I got a few more drinks in my system and kind of lost my mind a little bit. It was pretty bad of me to be drinking on a school night, but school meant very little to me. All I wanted to do was enjoy my time here and party until I couldn't anymore. After Cole and Carson left, I wasn't into doing any partying. This was like a brand new me tonight. Definitely a great start to my senior year. Although, I must admit, I drank too much. Way past my limit that I was slurring my words a little bit and I wasn't able to stand properly.

I tried to walk, but I ended up tripping over myself. Laughing in the process, I was going to end up hitting the floor until some handsome guy caught me in his arms. I wasn't exaggerating either. This guy was really handsome. So handsome that I lost myself for a bit looking up at him. He had pretty blue eyes and his jawline was to die for. On top of that his muscles weren't bad either. His arms felt nice around this little body of mine. I have to remember to thank him for catching me like this.

He stood me up and I couldn't help but laugh. I was out of it so I was going to embarrass myself in front of a hot guy because that's what I do best.
