Chapter 26

Wyatt ended up staying over because why not? We didn't do anything really. We kind of just watched movies until we fell asleep. I'm pretty sure he fell asleep first because he was exhausted from all the traveling. I couldn't really sleep last night either. All the things I've been doing this past break were eating at my soul. There was no way I would be able to keep this act up in front of him so long. I needed to tell him before anybody else told him.

For the most part, things were going good. Wyatt was helping me set up decorations for the party tomorrow night along with Violet and Cole. Carson was supposed to be here, but he was taking a very long time. I informed him that Wyatt was here so that's most likely why he didn't come with Cole and Violet. I didn't understand why he couldn't just muster the courage to be around him. I didn't quite know their history, but ever since Carson's been back they didn't seem to like each other much. Wyatt was more reserved about it while Carson was a lot more open. Still, I needed to know their history to figure them out.

Wyatt was helping me make the drinks, while Cole and Violet were hanging lights up and stuff. It was pretty chill with all of them here. Everyone was getting along too which was a surprise. Cole seemed to like him though and vice versa. It was just Carson that had the problem. Luckily for all of us he wasn't here.

"There's going to be a lot of liquor at this party." Wyatt said pouring the amount I told him to pour.

I laughed. "Scared?" I asked teasingly.

He looked at me and chuckled. "For your sake, yeah."

"What? I can hold my liquor." I protested.

Everyone laughed and I looked at them like they were crazy. Okay, I wasn't like some sort of alcoholic, but I can hold it together. The past few times didn't really do me any justice. I kind of fucked up both times I got drunk. From embarrassing myself in front of Wyatt at the bowling alley, to embarrassing myself in front of Wyatt again and confessing my feelings to Carson. I can see why they were laughing at me for sure. Still, I couldn't just give them the benefit of the doubt. I was too stubborn for that.

Violet shook her head at me and laughed. "Yeah, sorry Savannah, but that's not your strong suit." I can't believe she was siding with them. She was supposed to be on my side.

"You literally throw up almost every time you get an ounce of liquor in your system." Cole added.

"Not to mention you can barely even walk." Wyatt finished.

They were all ganging up on me and now I wished Carson was here. Then again, he probably would have agreed with them as well. I couldn't come up with a counter argument though. They had a lot of evidence against me unfortunately. They weren't supposed to remember any of that though. It was super embarrassing and I wanted to throw this bottle at all three of them. I refrained from doing so though and just laughed along with them. The truth was truth.

Rolling my eyes, I kept doing what I was doing with a smile on my face enjoying myself. I wasn't going to let their absurd ideas get to me. I knew what I could do with a couple of drinks. I was going to be fine at this party and hold everything in without throwing up. I also wasn't going to get drunk either. Everything was going to go smoothly and I was finally going to be able to kiss someone at midnight. Who that someone was, I don't exactly know yet.

Next thing I know, I felt arms wrap around my neck. I looked up to see that it was Carson and I smiled at him while he smiled back at me. I didn't even know he got here already. I didn't hear the door or anything. I was too busy trying to ignore everyone else making fun of me that I didn't realize. It was nice to finally have him here. It was even nicer to have him engulf me like he used to do when he first came back. It was clear that our feelings were mutually for each other, but we couldn't keep doing things like this in front of everybody.
