Chapter 24
Cole, Violet and I were downstairs on the couch planning this party for the New Year. I wasn't too pleased still knowing Maisie was upstairs with Carson. I was trying to distract myself, but I couldn't. We shared something so special. He admitted his feelings to me in a weird way. How was I supposed to just be okay with him upstairs with her? My jealously was raging and while Cole and Violet thought it was just a kiss, it was more. Man, my head definitely wasn't in the right place.
We were having the party at my place, because it was big enough for all the people that were going to show up. Plus, people knew where my house was more than they did the boys since they moved to a different area. Not only that, but my mom was going to be out of town for New Years. She usually goes to New York with her friends and celebrates with them. This year, since I was old enough, I didn't have to go with her. Sometimes being a senior had it's perks.
"Okay, so what exact day is your mom leaving?" Cole asked me writing things down on a pad. When he gets into his planning, he really gets into it.
"On the 30th, typical at night." I shrugged my shoulders not really knowing. It really depended on how long she anticipated to stay.
He nodded his head. "Great, that gives us time to get things and invite people." He was super excited about this. It was cute to see him thriving.
Violet was in charge of getting the word out. People liked her so they were more than likely to listen to her. Besides Kora and Maisie which we were going to have to invite them because of Carson. It was unfortunate, but anything for Carson right? I mean, it was going to be hard to get that midnight kiss from him with her around. I doubt I was going to even get it in the first place. It would be really nice though.
Speaking of nice, I heard Maisie yelling at Carson as she started walking down the stairs. Carson was trailing right behind her in a frantic like state. We all looked at each other and had to go see what the commotion was all about. The snow was still piled high and we were all crowding on the porch listening to them argue. We had no idea what it was about, but it made for great entertainment nonetheless.
"Carson! I can't believe you did that. I thought I was enough!" She screamed at him with so much furry. This was the first time I seen her so upset before.
"It was a mistake, Maisie, I promise it'll never happen again."
A mistake? Once he said that I had to chime in because I'm pretty sure he was talking about me and what happened. It hurt to know that he thought I was a mistake and that Maisie was all he wanted. Sometimes I wonder why I always keep trying to fix things with him when stuff like this was going to continue to happen. It was mind boggling to say the least, but I loved him and you do crazy things when you love someone.
I stepped off the porch and looked at him with seriousness in my eyes. "A mistake? Everything was a mistake to you?" I asked him hoping he could tell me he was lying.
He turned back towards me and licked his lips out of shame. "Savannah, you know what I meant." He tried to reason with me.
"No, but I heard what you said." Now I was getting angry. To think, we just got finished arguing, made up, now we're back to arguing. It was a never ending cycle.
Now it was the three of us standing looking at each other. Maisie looked at me with draggers. She looked like she wanted to shoot me, but it didn't phase me much. I was too worried about Carson saying that last night was a mistake again. Then to say it in front of Maisie was another dumb thing. Plus, we were supposed to keep this between us. A kiss was one thing, but sex was another. No wonder she was so pissed off.
