The exhausted girl snoozed her alarm before pushing herself out of bed.

"Good morning, love."

"Tanner why are you awake?"

"I brewed your coffee, made breakfast, and I packed my girls their lunches."

Autumn smiled at the tattooed girl who looked sleep deprived.

"Thank you but you need to sleep."

"I'm fine, Promise."

Tanner kissed her wife before running her hands under the girl's shirt.

"I'm proud of you."

Autumn paused letting Tanner start to slowly pop open the buttons on her shirt.

"You are a wonderful mom, you work, and you juggle the Sons."

"You're a fucking nurse you do so much more then I do, mi amor."

Autumn laughed at the taller girl's use of the Spanish language.

"You took one Spanish class."

Tanner ignored the shorter girl as she continued to unbutton her wife's shirt.

"Just panties, huh?"

The tattooed girl was just about the slip the shirt off her wife's arms when she heard little feet coming down the stairs. Autumn quickly faced the wall to button her shirt back up.

"Momma?"

"Why are you up, kiddo?"

"Danny is up getting ready, already."

Jasmine walked over to Tanner who lifted her off the ground and on to the counter.

"Why is Danny up an hour early?"

The little girl shrugs her shoulders before straightening her mommas T-shirt.

"She's on the phone."

After her shower she pulled on her scrubs and grabbed her lunch Tanner had made before heading to the hospital.

The moment she arrived she was assigned to an older lady.

"I'm Autumn and I'll be your nurse. Can I get you anything?"

"Sit. Let's talk, dear."

The girl slowly sat down on the stool beside the older lady.

"I was married for 53 years, how long have you been married?"

"Our 4 year anniversary was last month."

"What do they do?"

"She's a carpenter, she does mostly decks and like smaller sheds."

"She's sounds very skilled. Do you have children?"

"We do. It's been 3 years since we adopted Danny and Jasmine."

"Two babies?"

"To my wife yes, but Danny is 15 and Jasmine is 10."

"They sound lovely."

"How many children do you have?"

"Well I have 5. I lost my eldest son last winter."

"I'm sorry to hear that."

"He was a cop in New York, he made it big."

"He sounds like a great guy."

"He is."

Before Autumn could respond 4 older women rushed in.

"I'll be back in an hour to check up."

She slipped out of the room to come face to face with her wife who held a bloody cloth against her head.

"What happened?"

"Nail gun kicked back, I just need you to stitch it up. I've got to get back and finish up."

"You have a concussion, Tanner. Call one of the guys in."

"Baby I'm alright, Promise."

"Come on."

Tanner followed the girl back into a little office with other nurses who were gossiping.

A variety of Heys were said as Autumn made Tanner sit on the stool.

"Danny met a girl at the party last month do you think that's who she was talking to."

"Either way, we don't care, right?"

"Yeah it's just I wanna know."

"If my momma was a tattooed badass I wouldn't be too open on telling her either."

Autumn placed her hand on Tanner's cheek before leaning in the kiss her.

"You're right. Thanks, love."

"Don't go back to work."

"What else will I do all day?"

"You can go grocery shopping, pick up the girls from school, take them to get some nicer clothes for when we fly out to mom and dads for Thanksgiving."

"Alright, any clothing restrictions?"

"Of course not."

"I'll see you at home then?"

"Yeah. I love you."

"I love you."

Tanner kissed her wife before slipping out of the hospital.
