"Momma."

Tanner opened her eyes to a pitch black room, barely able to make out the girl who stood in front of her.

"What's wrong?"

"Jas is crying but grandpa can't get her to stop."

The tattooed girl was up and out of bed before Danny could blink.

"What happened?"

"I think she had a nightmare."

Tanner slipped on a sweatshirt to be a little more clothed before following Danny. Halfway down the hallway she could hear the screaming sobs.

It broke Tanner's heart to see her little girl so upset.

She wrapped her firm arms around the girl tight enough to keep the girl grounded.

"I'm here, baby, you're alright. I'm not going to let anything hurt you again. You're safe now."

"He was here."

Tanner wiped the tears from the girl's face as Mac tried to comfort a shaken Danny.

"No, sweet girl, he was just a terrible dream. He is in the ground, where he deserves to be. He'll never hurt you again, I made sure of that."

The youngest girl calmed down slightly allowing Tanner to carry her to the room her and Autumn were in.

She flipped on the bedside light immediately waking up her wife.

"What the hell, Tanner?"

"Jas had a nightmare."

Tanner laid down with the girl still attached to her chest as Autumn rolled over to kiss all over the little girl's face.

Giggles erupted from the crying girl as Autumn ticked her feet.

"Well you're safe now, especially with grandpa and Momma here."

"I'm scared to close my eyes. What if he comes back?"

Jasmine hid her face in Tanner's neck as she made eye contact with her wife.

"I made sure he'd never come back but I'll stay awake and watch over you."

"Promise?"

"Promise."

Tanner was already exhausted from her emotional episode earlier in the day but her daughter was scared and she promised.

Jasmine fell asleep as the tattooed hand rubbed her back.

"You know you can go to sleep. I'm certain he won't crawl out of the grave."

"I promise her. I did the same for you."

"You stayed awake in the hospital?"

"Yeah I promised to keep you safe, so I did."

"You're exhausted, go to bed."

"I'll just stay up for a little while to make sure she stays asleep."

Tanner watched the sunrise from the balcony of the bedroom as the two girls slept in the safety of Tanner's protective watch.

She traced the tattoos on her arm as she took in the air around her. She felt high from the clean air around her compared to California.

Tanner watched as her daughter and Mac made their way into the back yard with an old football.

Danny started off with the ball, quickly being caught by Mac's toned arms.

She watched as Danny kissed Macs lips before taking off again, spiking the ball as she made it to the other end.

"You suck, babe."

"You cheated."

"How? Because I'm better then you."

"You distracted me."

Mac smiled at the shorter girl who leaned closer to her lips.

"It's a distraction you welcomed, babe."

Tanner smiled at the two as they continued their game, which lead to Danny kissing Mac almost every play so she would win.

"Hey, love. How long have you been up?"

"Never went to bed. Look at them, up at sunrise to play football."

"They are two kids in love."

Autumn sat in her wife's lap, interlocking their fingers around her waist.

"I wish we could have been two kids in love."

"We were and still are, you act like a teenage boy half the time."

"I've been called worse, like your wife."

Autumn glared at the taller girl before directing her attention back to the girls below.

"I'm kidding, love, I'm honored to be your wife....... You were right."

"About?"

"Mac and Danny, they're perfect together."

"Let's just hope Mac continues to treat our girl right."
