The tattooed fingers tied her wife's shoes as she listened to her talk.
"I'll be home close to 7, don't forget that the girl's need to be up for school."
"I know, love."
Autumn got the call from her youngest daughter around 4 AM.
"You need to come home."
"What's wrong, Jasmine?"
"Momma is freaking out."
She rushed through the door as Tanner sat in the corner of the kitchen with her head in her hands.
"What happened?"
"I don't know. She started freaking out and Mal tried to calm her down and she hit him."
"Is he okay?"
"Danny is cleaning the cut from Momma's ring."
"Tanner."
"Leave me alone."
"Sweetheart."
"Go away!"
Autumn sat down beside her wife slowly resting her hand on the women's arm.
"It's your wife, Autumn."
"I'm not married."
"Yeah you are, baby."
"My girlfriend is going to be mad."
"I don't think she will be."
Silent tears begin to fall down Autumn's cheeks as one of her biggest fears came true.
Tanner had forgotten all about her.
"I wanna go home."
"You are home."
"Where's Nana?"
"Let's go to bed it's late."
She stood up reaching out to help Tanner up.
"I can't go with you."
"Yes you can."
"You're not my girlfriend."
"No I'm your wife, come on I won't touch you if you don't believe me."
Tanner took her hand allowing her to be helped up.
The abnormally loud alarm clock woke Tanner up a few hours after her latest episode.
She began her day like any other, waking up Jasmine, Danny and Malcom. Then starting breakfast for the whole family before they went their separate ways for the day.
"How are you feeling Momma?"
Tanner looked over at Danny with a confused expression.
"I'm fine. What happen to your face Malcom?"
The kids looked at each other before making up a lie.
"I fell out of the bed last night and must of hit my face off the nightstand."
"You need to be more careful, kid."
"Yeah, yeah I do."
Autumn slowly made her way into the kitchen.
"Hey baby, what are you doing up?"
"I um I wanted to see the kids before they went to school."
"Well you look gorgeous, love."
Tanner kissed her wife before pouring her the daily cup of coffee.
"Thank you."
Autumn looked over at Danny who shrugged.
"Do you remember me getting home last night?"
"No, I must of been out."
"Yeah, you were."
Tanner wrapped her tattooed arms around the women's waist placing her lips against her neck.
"I love you."
"I love you, too."
