Autumn's parents kept the girls busy as Autumn held Tanner as she slept.
There was a gentle knock on the door before it was pushed open.
"Hey sweetheart, I brought up some lunch. If you don't mind me asking who was that guy at the restaurant?"
"That was Tanner's dad."
"I don't understand."
"Tanner's dad is a terrible, sick man that deserves to burn in hell. He did this to her, he hurt her."
"She's beaten her trauma, she's overpowered her scars."
"She has but dad she's like a game of Jenga eventually she just falls apart."
"But there is always delicate hands there to reset the game. She needs you, she needs the love she'd missed out on."
The scream woke her up, the blood curdling scream. In her briefs and sports bra she grabbed her pistol before running down the stairs.
He stood with Danny in his hold as Autumn and Mac stood still.
"You look better then before. A lot sexier, then when you were 13."
Tanner cringed at the comment from her own father.
"I told you to stay away."
"Ten years ago I told you that you were mine. I let you have a little fun but it's time to come back to me. Remember we had great times, honey."
"Let her go."
"Darling, I don't want them but if you don't come with me I'll have to take the little one."
"You touch her you're dead. Let my little girl go and I'll come back."
"Promise?"
"Promise. Remember I don't break my promises, Daddy."
Saying it made the tattooed girl sick to her stomach but protecting her girls is what mattered.
He pushed Danny towards Mac who easily caught her. She kissed her forehead before wrapping her arms around the crying girl.
"You're okay."
The man pulled a gun on Autumn making Tanner automatically put hers down.
"Here, I'll go with you. Just leave them alone."
"I knew you were smart. We are going to have so much fun!"
The tattoo girl cringed when his hands gripped her wrists.
Tanner let him restrain her before being pushed towards the door.
"I love you all, alright? Mac take care of my girls. You guys need to go back home, it isn't safe here."
"Tanner!"
Mac held Autumn as she tried to tackle the man.
"Baby, code black."
Everyone was confused but Autumn, she knew exactly what it meant.
For whatever the situation, I'm going to try my hardest to make it back to you. Don't interfere it puts our babies at risk of losing two parents. If I don't come back, know I loved you and our family until my last breath, you were the last things that crossed my mind. Take a little time for yourself, but be there for our kids. Eventually you'll find someone else that will love you just as much as I did, be with them, let them make you as happy as I hope I did. Make sure our kids grow up to be good people and make sure you stay good, love. I love you, baby girl.
Autumn collapsed in Mac's hold remembering Tanner's exact words.
"No! No!"
"Shh...."
Mac sank to the floor with Autumn in her arms.
"Shh...this isn't the end."
