"What happened?"
"She yelled for you because she couldn't move, so we sat her down. Then she asked for you and we told her you were at work and she completely forgot what you did and everything."
"It's part of the brain trauma, she'll forget somethings. We just have to make sure we calmly remind her."
"It took us an hour to calm her down enough that she fell asleep."
"Well thank you, now get to bed you two you have school in the morning."
"Night, mom."
"Goodnight, Autumn."
Mac followed Danny upstairs to her room as Autumn sat at the kitchen table, crying.
Her phone rang on the marble counter as she tried to pull herself together.
"Hello."
"Honey what's wrong?"
"Nothing, Dad, What's up?"
"Jasmine told me you were crying in the kitchen. What's wrong?"
"She forgot that I left after an hour. She forgot about medical school and my job at the hospital. It's dumb, I know, it's just what if she forgets something truly important."
"You know she's not to blame. If she could help it, she would. She'd, obviously, do anything for you and the kids. Sweetheart, she was going to die for you because she loves you so much. She'll never forget what really matters, she'll never forget you. Don't forget that you'd do anything for her. You both vowed to it. But there's more to just Tanner forgetting what happened?"
"I'm just emotional for no reason."
Tanner listened to what her wife was saying to her dad from the doorway of the kitchen.
"Baby, there's always a reason."
Autumn's tear filled eyes locked with Tanner's tired ones.
"I'll call you tomorrow, dad."
They stood across the kitchen from each other in silence.
"What am I doing wrong? If I did something wrong tell me and I'll fix it."
"He kissed me."
Tanner's mouth went dry not letting her speak.
"And I kissed him back for a few seconds until I thought I was going to puke from how disgusting I felt."
"Did you sleep with him?"
Tanner's voice was barely audible from her distance.
"No, I never would."
"Then why kiss him?"
"I wish I knew. I wish I understand how I could be so fucking stupid to ruin my marriage with the most amazing woman in the world. The only person who actually loves me and cares about me."
"Thank you for telling me."
"I'm sorry."
"It's okay."
The tattooed girl didn't need to know who 'he' was because it really didn't matter. Autumn didn't lie, she openly told her the truth.
"Tanner I-"
"Just sleep in the guest room tonight, please. That's all
I ask, just give me a moment of space."Tanner walked closer to her wife and kissed her forehead.
"I love you, alright? It's going to take a lot more then a kiss to ruin that. I'm not going to leave nor would I kick you out, I just want a single night to let it sink in. No more tears, just sleep alright."
"I love you, too."
"I know, baby, we all make mistakes. Now go to bed."
"I will in a little."
Tanner's back hit the mattress as rage filled her body. She was mad as hell, not because Autumn kissed someone else but because she understood why.
The lamp shattered against the wall and the desk was flipped. Tanner ripped the room apart as Danny made Mac go look to see what the noise was.
"You know I do push ups when I'm mad."
"Shit I'm sorry I forget everyone was asleep."
"You want to talk about it?"
"Autumn and some guy kissed."
Tanner sat down on the end of the bed, looking around at the mess.
"Well it could be worse."
Mac sat down beside Tanner as she took in the damage.
"She could of done what we've both done."
"I'm not mad at her, I understand why."
"How do you figure?"
"I'm different now. She needed to remind herself of what we have."
"So why did you destroy your room?"
"I think you'd be pretty pissed if Danny came home saying she and some guy kissed."
"I'd kick his ass."
Tanner chuckled as Danny stepped into the bedroom, leaning against the doorframe in one of Mac's shirts and a pair of running shorts.
"Are you okay, Momma?"
"I'm fine, princess. Well, Mac, you better get back to bed when they come find you that means your ass better get back."
"Alright, we'll get some rest."
"What are you two doing tomorrow?"
"We have school, Momma."
"Shit I forgot, sorry."
"Don't be sorry."
Danny kissed Tanner's cheek before pulling the comforter back.
"Get to bed, Momma."
