Play the some above while you read the following chapter. It's one of my favourite songs and I just feel it fits this part of the story.

Enjoy reading lovely people!

I feel my stomach sink.

I watch as Joe walks in with a tall blonde on his arm, the one he cheated on me with. What the actual hell?

Wasn't he at my door trying to say she was nothing and that I was 'the one'? I guess it's true what they say; once a lying, cheating man whore, always a lying, cheating man whore.

"What's wrong?" I look back into Adam's eyes and my body feels a whole lot lighter. He really is my solace in a world of cruel intentions.

"Well, the person that just walked in is the ex of mine that was banging on my door the other day...How could you tell something was wrong?"

His whole body becomes rigid and he looks...furious. I've never seen him behave this way. Is it weird that it doesn't scare me but makes me even more attracted to him?

"Your whole body changed. Why is he here?" It looks like he's struggling for words but then I feel the presence of someone next to me and realise that Jason hasn't left since dropping off our drinks.

When I look to Jason's face, he looks like he's trying to fight his body for control. He finally turns to me and I see the pity flash in his eyes.

That's when I decided to be the bigger person here and suck it up. I knew I didn't want Joe back and I knew that it didn't matter what he did because we were nothing. Plain and simple, nothing.

"Jason calm down. I know I'm partly to blame for your temper because you and Dylan were the ones who forced me out of the house after what he did, but I'm over it. I've realised that what I had with him wasn't anything special and that I definitely deserve better." With that I square my shoulders and look at Adam.

"Shall we order food?" I look into his eyes, silently pleading for him to be alright with this whole thing and just carry on as we were, without letting Joe and his cling on spoil the night.

"Of course. Are you sure your happy to stay? We can go somewhere else?" I smile a small smile at the charming man across from me.

"Yes, I'm happy to stay. After all, this place is named after me. It would be rude to leave and this place has amazing food."

We get through our order and I return my hand to the table. Adam wastes no time in picking it up in his and carrying on with the circles on the back of my hand as before.

We sit and just admire each other for a while before my body begins the slow and steady blush that spreads its way past every inch of skin on me.

"What's the blush for?" I look straight into his eyes and my blush intensifies.

"I guess I'm just nervous." He rubs my hand again and then brings it to his mouth to plant the softest kiss on my knuckles.

We spend the next few minutes in comfortable conversation. Talking about anything and everything. It was just perfect. He wasn't judging me, he was...caring.

It feels like he's turned a light on inside of me and all my worries are slowly seeping away. How can he make me feel like this so quickly? What's he doing to me?

After our meal, Jason rushes over and I think he's about to give us the bill but he plants my favourite ice cream sundae on the table and explains that the bills been taken care of by my cousin.
