Sophia's POV:

By the time I've finished all the washing, drying and ironing, it's nearly six in the evening. I was impressed with how much I'd managed to get done but I was hoping to have finished a little earlier.

With it being so late, I decide that I should really text Adam before just going over and winding Elsie up.

Sophia: Hey, I'm not sure what you and Elsie are up to but I've just finished with her new clothes. Do you want me to drop them off tonight or...?

I send the text after rereading it about fifty times. It's just a text Sophia. Calm down!

When my phone pings with a message about five minutes later, it takes everything in me to play cool and not get giddy like a little teenager.

Adam: You're amazing! You don't have to come here. I can come get them.

Sophia: I don't mind honestly. I've got to go to the restaurant tonight anyway so I can drop them on my way.

I'm ashamed to say that I text back immediately and then filled my little car up and literally drove over instantly. I didn't really need to go to the restaurant but I suppose I could go there and check to see if there were any hours I could have for some extra money.

I drive a lot slower than I normally would to make it look like I didn't come over immediately but by the time I arrive, even I can tell that it wasn't exactly long after I text that I left.

The walk over to the door was pure torture. My palms were sweaty and my heart was beating out of my chest. What on earth was happening? I've been around this man for a while. Why was I now panicking so much?

Maybe it has something to do with that kiss and how you can't stop thinking of him doing it again!

Shut up subconscious!

I can hear footsteps behind the door and I start to panic. I hadn't changed my outfit. I was still in my T-shirt and skinny jeans from this morning. Oh great! This is what happens when you rush.

The door swings open and I'm greeted with a beaming Elsie and Adam standing behind her in loose fitting bottoms and a very tight T-shirt.

"Fee-Fee! You back!" I laugh and bend down to pick her up and hug her tight to me.

"I am. And I brought you your things back. They're all clean and ready to go into your wardrobe. Shall we go put them away?" She claps her hands in my face and runs to my car as soon as I put her back onto her feet.

I look back to the front door and see Adam leaning on the frame with a smirk on his face.

"Nice to see you to. I can see who's the favourite around here." He sticks out his bottom lip and I giggle at his childish behaviour.

"Oh, how terribly rude of me!" I giggle and walk forward to peck the side of his cheek but he moves his face quickly and my lips land on his.

I pull away quickly but he only laughs at my reaction.

"It's fine. I'll get you later." He whispers as he walks past me and up to Elsie.

My heart almost stopped. This man is actually going to kill me. How ironic!

Walking slowly over to my car, I open the boot and help them with all the neatly folded clothes and her duvet set. Her eyes light up at seeing everything coming back and I can't stop the smile from spreading across my face.

I grab some huge bags from the back seats and Adam looks at me with his eye brows raised. I don't answer any unspoken questions and instead I just nudge my head to Elsie.

When we get to her room, I start to take out all of the old clothes she has that won't fit her anymore and put them into a box ready to go either in the attic or to charity. That choice is Adams and I wouldn't judge either way.

We use the hangers to hang her new clothes and I'm quick at sorting all of her drawers. She didn't really have much so I made quick work of it.

I ask Adam for a drink and tell Elsie to go help him so that I can quickly set up her room.

"I must've left my phone in my car as well. Would you both mind looking for it in there? I just need to make sure I don't miss an important phone call." I lie through my teeth but Elsie buys it. Adam just continues to look at me like I have two heads. He never questions me but I can see he's definitely confused.

When their gone I start to work quickly. I change her duvet cover and put unicorn pillows over the top to make it look like a bed from every little girls dreams. When I'm done, I pull the canopy out and I'm grateful that Adam had put the hook up above her bed like I'd told him about when I showed him the canopy days ago. It took a little longer than I expected but when it's done, I almost want to cry. She's going to love it.

Just as I'm about to call them from downstairs, I remember the bags of toys I'd bought from Amazon like Adam had said. They were delivered to my neighbours when I was at the hospital this morning and I just couldn't wait to see her face when she gets them. They were only little presents like Adam had wanted. I saved the rest on a wish list for her birthday.

I put the dress up dresses inside her wardrobe and pulled a box out from the corner and filled it with the barbie dolls. Walking over to the corner of the room, I set down another box from her wardrobe and fill it with the books that she liked when we went shopping. She was such a little book worm already and loved a story to go to sleep. The cosy chair in the corner was a perfect little reading spot for her and Adam.

I had just finished putting teddies onto the reading chair when I heard a scream from behind me.

I turned around to see Elsie running around the room looking at everything very quickly and then starting again. When she finished she looked at me and started to cry.

Adam rushed over to her and went on his knees to see what was wrong. I however was frozen. What had I done wrong? I thought she'd be happy?

"What's wrong Elsie? Don't you like it? Fee-Fee's worked so hard. Look at how nice you're room looks. And all your new toys!" He looks at me with a look I'm not sure I understand.

Before long, I've moved to the floor next to Adam and I'm about to ask Elsie if she wants me to do something different when she jumps on me and wraps her arms around my neck, burying her head in the crook of my neck.

"Hey, hey. Everything's ok. Tell me what's wrong sweetie. Don't you like it?" I rock slightly with her in my arms and run my hand over her back soothingly.

"Fank you Fee-Fee. I love you." She says it as a whisper but we all hear it. My eyes shoot open and I look straight at Adam who just smiles at me shyly.

"You're welcome honey. I love you too. Now go look at all your new toys and you're super amazing bed!" I push her up and she wipes her eyes quickly before dashing over to the dolls.

This girl is seriously going to be the death of me!
