'Jeez, Di. I thought you were getting a thing or two!' Joe exclaimed as Dianne came out of a shop with a large bag and a smaller one.
'Sorry, I just liked the look of everything.' The redhead giggled, putting her phone away into her pocket.
'We better be heading back now, it's almost three.' He sighed, since he was enjoying wandering around with Dianne.
She pouted, nodding.
'Awe, I love this place.'
Joe agreed, taking one of her bags.
They walked down the streets, laughing at silly things each other said. Until Dianne stopped and stared into a shop window.
Joe looked at the necklace in the jewellery shop, that Dianne was staring at.
It was a silver chain with a ruby at the front.
She quickly looked away and looked at Joe.
'Cmon Joe, lets go.'
He shook his head, glancing at his phone screen.
'Actually, one of my old friends is here. I was gonna go see them quickly.' He lied, hoping he sounded convincing.
'I'll meet you back at the hotel soon.'
Joe dragged them into an alleyway as he said that.
He placed his lips to her forehead and let them linger there for a few seconds.
'Ok, see you in your room.' She smiled before walking away.
Joe waited until she turned the corner down the road before he walked into the jewellery shop.~~~
When Dianne got back to the hotel, she took her phone out for the first time since Joe left and switched it on.
As she waited for it to power on, she stepped into the elevator and pressed the button for the sixth floor.
She unlocked her phone just as the doors closed.
But just as the doors closed, her heart broke even more than it was already as she looked at the screen.~~~
Joe walked up to the cashier, smiling.
'Hey, could I have that ruby necklace please?' He asked, pointing to it.
He nodded, pulling out a small box and putting it carefully into it.
He closed it and put it into a bag, handing it to Joe.
'That'll be £560, please.'
Joe nodded, taking out his card. He paid for it, a grin on his face.
'Thanks so much.'
'Treat this girl right, won't you?' He said, which Joe immediately nodded to.
'Of course, we've only been going out for a few weeks but I know she's the one.'
Joe smiled as he said that, because he knew he was speaking the truth.
'She's my everything.'
