Joe's POV:
As soon as I said that, I watched her bite her lip.
She sighed, stepping closer to me.
'Joe.. of course I do..' she whispered, taking my hand.
'But?'
She locked eyes with me for a second before glancing down at our hands.
'It's impossible, the contract.'
I don't say anything, but just hold her hand tighter.
'We're like Romeo and Juliet, forbidden to be together..' she muttered, letting a tear slide down her cheek.
Gently, I wipe it away with my thumb and lift her chin up.
'Look, it can be our secret. At least until the show finishes.' I reason, raising my spirits.
Dianne nodded hesitantly, looking back up at me.
'I guess that could work... But I'm afraid that if it goes wrong... I'll be kicked off the show, along with my dream.'
She stood up, pulling her hand away from mine.
'I'll think about it, I'll have an answer when I get back.' Dianne said, walking away and tightening her ponytail.
'Dianne.' I say as she reached the door.
She turned around again, raising an eyebrow.
'I love you, Reddo.'
She broke out into a smile, her cheeks turning a light shade of pink.
'I love you too, you weirdo.'
Then, she was gone.
But she left a smile on my face, even though I didn't feel great.
Suddenly, my phone started ringing.
I picked it up and looked to see who it was.
It was Zoe.
I answer it, lying down in bed.
'Hey Zo, what's up?'
'Ello Broseph, you asked me for advice yesterday? I tried calling yesterday but you didn't answer.'
My eyes went wide as I realised I had asked her for advice.
'Umm, yeah. I have a problem...' I say quietly, almost as if I was scared to say it.
'Basically...' I start, but stop myself, not really knowing what to say.
'You can't tell this to anyone.'
'I won't, promise.'
I take a deep breath, sitting up.
'I've asked Dianne to be my girlfriend. But she's worried about the contract and I don't know what to do.' I blurt out, running my hand through my hair frustratedly.
'Do you love her?' Zoe asked quietly.
I don't even hesitate to answer.
'I do, and I've never felt like this with someone before. I'm scared, Zo. Anything can happen.'
'If there's anything that's supposed to happen, it will happen eventually. Give it time, let the relationship grow.' She said.
I break out into a small smile.
'Thanks Zo, I'll call you when I'm back in Brighton and tell you how it goes.'
'You better, and I want to know everything!'
I chuckle, my finger hovering over the red button.
'See ya soon.'
'Bye Joe!'
I hung up before standing up.
My head was spinning, but it wasn't as bad as earlier.
Zoe was right.
If we were meant to be, it'll work.
And I have a feeling that it will work.
I know it will.
