"Over here!" Ethan yells as he holds his hands out.
I watch Grayson toss the football to him while running to tackle Johnny. He jumps onto his back and throws him down on the sand. The two men roll around while Ethan holds onto the football. He jumps up and down while yelling out in victory.
"Since when did this get physical?" Johnny laughs as he rises to his feet. He dusts the sand off of his swim shorts.
"It's football, it's always physical." Grayson rolls his eyes at him.
"We're on the beach, it's not that serious." Johnny playfully goes back at him.
"Alright, we are not fighting about football." I throw my hands up in defense.
"Yeah, especially since the food is almost ready." Bodhi says while flipping more burgers on the grill.
The sun is getting lower and lower in the sky, causing the entire beach to light up in a gorgeous tint of orange. The boys insisted we have a barbecue to bring in the last official month of summer.
Grayson walks up to me and lowly smirks. "I say we take another dip in the water."
"We're about to eat." I shake my head while laughing.
"Too bad." He quickly picks me up and throws me over his shoulder.
"Grayson!" I yell as he rushes toward the ocean.
"It's summer, babe. Live a little." He yells while running into the freezing water. He dunks us under before I can protest the idea. It's a good thing I'm still in my bikini. I come up for air and gasp, pushing my hair away from my face.
"Doesn't it feel amazing?" Grayson asks with a smile.
"The sun is almost down, it's cold." I shiver.
"Aw, come here." He smiles while pulling my body to his. I instantly place my hands on his head and dunk him under the water. I love playing around with him, especially in the pacific.
"Very funny." He says once I lift him back up for air.
"You had that coming." I roll my eyes while glancing around the water. The current is calm today, not a wave in sight.
"Did not." He wraps his arms around my waist and plants a quick kiss on my lips. "Are you excited for the barbecue?"
"Yes, I'm starving." I giggle and wrap my arms around his neck. "How many people did Bodhi invite?"
"A lot." He laughs while nodding toward the shore. "Practically the same people from the bonfire."
"He better make good food." I tease while staring down at him.
"He's a good cook, but not as good as me." He leans up and crashes his lips against mine. I smile into the kiss as I pull my body closer to him.
"Yo, lovebirds!" A deep voice yells in the distance.
Grayson and I pull apart and look toward the shore. Ethan is standing there, but he's barely visible due to the sun now being completely down. "The food is ready. Stop hooking up and come get some before it's all gone."
Grayson and I roll our eyes as he keeps my body close to his.
"Let's go." I'm about to untangle myself from him, but he grips my back and stands up. I laugh and cling onto him as he carries me out of the ocean.
A large fire is burning on the beach, giving light to it. Grayson sets me down and we walk over to the crowd of people. I don't know anyone besides his usual group of friends.
