The bank is filled with all different people. The scared victims got to leave, but now the police and ambulance have arrived. Everyone in the department stares at me like I'm some fucking joke, but that's what I feel like. News anchors have been trying to get a statement out of me, but I remain silent the entire time. Cameras flash all around the bank, and that's when I hear the door slam open.
"Oh god damn, who is in charge of this camera crew? This is a crime scene area for christ sake!" Angelo's loud voice fills the atmosphere of the bank. "Get the fuck out of here." He yells at the cameramen asking him for statements.
Officer Ryder comes up to me with a smug smirk on his lips. He's holding metal handcuffs between his fingers, and I know exactly what's coming. He aggressively grabs my wrists and slaps the uncomfortable metal around them.
"You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. If you so desire, an attorney will be provided for you free of cost. Now, do you understand these right I've just given you, Jacobs? Do you understand?" He yells as he turns me around.
Duke suddenly rushes to my side, an annoyed expression on his face. "Hey, she understands her fucking rights." He practically pushes Officer Ryder away from me. "Jesus Christ, Savannah. Are you okay?" His eyes soften as he stares down at me
I simply nod and look to my feet. I feel like I have no voice, like I can't speak one goddamn sentence.
Duke angrily turns to Officer Ryder. "Get these cuffs off her."
"Leave the cuffs on." Angelo appears at Duke's side.
"Get them off." Duke goes back at him.
"Leave them on!" Angelo screams at the top of his lungs. His voice is shaking with anger as the veins pop out of his neck.
"Oh, come on Angelo." Duke mumbles while rolling his eyes.
"Your partner is an accessory to murder, you understand that Duke?" Angelo looks back at me with pure disgust in his eyes. "Jacobs, there is a dead person in this bank who happened to be a police officer. Let me show you."
He aggressively pulls my arm, leaving indented marks on my skin. He points down to the dead man on the floor, blood still pouring out of his chest. "How does that sit in your stomach?" He tightens his grip even harder on me.
"Take your hands off me right now." I say through my teeth.
Duke immediately pushes Angelo off of me. "Listen, she found out who these guys were. That was part of her job."
"Are you serious right now? She was helping them!" Angelo yells in his face.
"He threatened me! We need to arrest Bodhi Griffin, he's in charge and needs to be locked up."
"They all need to be locked up!" Angelo shakes his head back and forth.
"I know where they're going, I can get them. You just need to take these handcuffs off me." I beg him with my eyes.
"Why the fuck should I trust you, Jacobs?" My boss scoffs at me.
"Because I can get them. I'm the only person who knows where they're going. Just give me one more chance, please." I gulp.
Angelo stares at me with a blank expression. I can tell he's completely fed up with my shit, but I don't care at this point. "Alright, fine. One more shot. If you fail, you're done for good."
I nod my head while he gets the key from Officer Ryder. I turn around and he unlocks my handcuffs. My wrists sting a little from the sharp pressure they were giving me.
