I sit down at my round wooden kitchen table with a fresh cup of tea in my hand. Since I'm not allowed to drink caffeine, this is a good substitution. My eyes move down to a few files in front of me, all regarding the robberies. I figured I would do some more investigating to find my new lead.
My lips touch the rim of the cup, allowing the warm liquid to travel down my throat. My hands flip through a few statements the workers gave last year on the masked phantoms. I noticed they only hit banks in Los Angeles, they never move their work outside of the city.
"They came in here with full force, ready to scar our entire lives." One woman commented.
"I was pushed to the ground with a gun pointed to my head. He said if I spoke, I would die." Another man stated.
A chill runs down my spine as I take another sip from my cup. My hands flip to another page in the files, this time showing polaroid pictures of the empty cash draws. I shake my head as my eyes scan the evidence.
I go to look at the next file, when another sound makes my heart jump. Loud banging coming from my door is filling the peaceful silence I had in my apartment. My eyes widen as I look down at my opened files. I jump out of the chair and pick up each one I have laid out.
The loud banging continues as I rush over to my closet, where I keep all of my FBI equipment. I shove the files in the back and quickly shut the door. I debate grabbing the gun I have hidden, just incase. I decide against it and rush over toward the door. My eye peeks in the peephole, seeing four familiar faces. Growing confused, I unlock the door and swing it open.
"It's about time." Ethan lets out a laugh.
"What the hell are you guys doing here?" I say while exhaling a breath.
"Let's get this show on the road." Bodhi says while pushing past me to fully step into my apartment.
"Are you alright, babe? You seem nervous." Grayson gently places his hand on my cheek. His touch instantly calms my nerves, even though I'm terribly confused.
"What's going on?" I glance back at the other three, who are looking around.
"I forgot, you didn't tell her." Johnny rolls his eyes.
"Tell me what?" I look up at Grayson.
"We're going on another adventure, I want you to come." His smile is wide, just like it always is.
"You didn't even tell me about it." I take a step back from him.
"You'll love it, don't worry." Ethan chuckles while shaking his head.
"You might need a jacket." Bodhi goes over to my closet. My eyes widen as I step closer to him.
"No, I'm fine. It's like ninety degrees outside." I quickly stutter.
Bodhi furrows his eyebrows while glaring at me. "You might get cold with the wind."
"Wind?" I snap my head back at Grayson.
"Can I tell her so we can go?" Johnny says a little annoyed.
"We're going skydiving." Grayson blurts out.
My eyebrows shoot up as I process his words. "Skydiving." I shockingly repeat.
"Yup, as in jumping out of a plane with a parachute." Bodhi says while walking over to the door.
"How are we just going to go skydiving?" I question.
"We do it all the time, it's amazing." Ethan says with a small smile.
"What?" I look back at Grayson.
"We have no time for talking, the plane is waiting." Johnny opens the door and steps out of it.
