My phone buzzed again and I growled. Mike has been texting me non stop since we last talked to each other. Today was New Years Eve and me, Jasmine and James are going to the masquerade ball at the town hall since everyone is invited. Jasmine wouldn't stop jumping up and down because she was so excited. She even dragged me to the mall to buy us a dress and a mask to go with our dresses. I bought a dress that went to my ankles and it was a strapless dress. The top bit was black and the bottom was fully pink. Jasmine was going to curl my hair.

Right now, it was 11pm and in an hour it will be midnight and a new year. We were already, ready to go. I quickly put my jacket on and took the spare keys to the apartment before running outside the door. I ran downstairs and to James car. I hoped into the back seat and James drive off.

"Hey guys!" I greeted.

"Hey Em!" They shouted.

"Are you excited as I am?!" Jasmine squealed.

"Eh?" I shrugged.

"Whatever" Jasmine mumbled.

I rolled my eyes and put my mask on. Jasmine did the sane as we arrived at the town hall. The place was only five minutes away from the hotel so yeah. James put his mask on and we all got out of the car. We walked in and Jasmine and James went off to go dancing as I went to get a drink. If you're wondering where Alex was when I was at the apartment, he had left way before with Sandy, ugh, I hate that bitch so much.

"Excuse me?" I heard from behind me and I turned around to see a guy in a black mask, smiling at me.

"Yes?" I said.

"Would you like to dance?" He asked, sounding so nervous. I smiled and nodded.

"Sure, why not?" I said and he smiled again.

He grabbed my hand and we both walked to the dance floor. We stopped walking and turned towards each other. The song 'Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars' started playing. The boy was standing there, still looking nervous. I smiled and rolled my eyes. I took his arms and put them around my waist before putting my arms around his neck. I saw him blush as we started dancing. Wow, this guy is very shy and nervous, it must of took him a shit load of courage to walk over and ask me to dance if he's this nervous.

"So what's your name?" I asked.

"Garrett" he said and my eyes widen.

"Emily, your friend" I said and his eyes widen this time.

"Emily? I didn't know you'd be here?" Garrett said.

"Yeah but Jasmine dragged me here, you?" I asked.

"My friend, Alex, made me come here with him" Garrett said and my mouth dropped open in shock.

"You know Alex?" I asked in disbelief.

"Yeah, he's my friend, how do you know him?" Garrett asked.

"He's my annoying roommate" I said.

"I didn't know that, he never mentioned you" Garrett said.

"Of course he wouldn't mention me, he hates me like how I hate him" I said.

"Maybe" Garrett shrugged.

"Let's not talk about the asshole" I said and he nodded.

"Sure" Garrett said. We both smiled at each other but then I was pushed forward and stumbled forward till Garrett wrapped his arms around my waist to stop me from falling. I stood up again and Garrett quickly moved his hands away as he blushed. I turned around and glared at the bitch in front of me, Sandy.
