Jacob:

Sabia was scared. I could see it, hell I could smell it. I didn't understand what she was so afraid of, then I noticed writing above the Arch, and it spelled out, in Ancient Greek, Medusa. I remembered there was some connection between Medusa and Athena and Poseidon, but I wasn't sure what it was. It must have been bad since Sabia was shaking with fear.

"What's wrong, Sabia?" I asked.

"Mom and Medusa don't get along. Mom's the one who made her what she is. My dad was in love with Medusa once, but Mom changed her, and he hated the new look."

"Oh," I said.

"I don't expect you to know every ounce of Greek Mythology. I got a nice crash course on my way to rescue you. I guess you didn't really need rescuing."

"Yeah, who told you that Hades had me?"

"Your mother. She was worried sick about you."

"Well, thanks for coming to the rescue then. Who's the kid?"

"Oh, Thomas come over here."

The boy ran over, and I noticed the resemblance between him and Sabia. They had the same honey blonde hair and that aura of wisdom.

"Jacob, this is my brother, Thomas. He helped me find you. Thomas, this is my boyfriend, Jacob."

We shook hands, and I asked Sabia what we have to do.

"Well we can't leave without her head," Thomas told us.

"I can't go in there," Sabia said.

"Are you talking about that age old Myth?" Thomas asked her.

"Yeah, women cannot enter Medusa's lair."

Thomas laughed, "I don't know where the Ancient Greeks came up with that idea, but women enter the lair all the time, but no one who has entered has left in the last century."

"We will survive," Sabia said confidently as she pulled a gleaming reflective shield off her back. I hadn't noticed she had that.

Sabia:

I was scared out of my mind. How was I supposed to fight my mother's nemesis and my father's ex-lover? I guess I was going to have to try, and see what happened. I led my boyfriend and my brother into the lair using the shield my mother gave me as a way to see. The surface was extremely reflective, so I could look without worrying about becoming stone.

I quickly got my first glimpse of her, but it was thankfully only the tail. I heard an arrow shoot through the air, and a really loud shriek along with a thud. I couldn't risk looking to see what happened because I was suddenly looking at the reflection of Medusa's face.

Sorry most of my chapters are short, but I already know I'm terrible when it comes to description. I'm changing over to Jacob's point of view again next chapter. He'll be watching from behind Medusa, so there may be points where he doesn't see the battle, but I want it that way. I want to show his worry for his girl.
