Chapter 14

Aaron's pov

Jade and I helped Alicia set the table. We called everyone. And we had dinner.

To be honest I still couldn't rid my mind off that spider.
I hate spiders.
So fucking much.

I don't know why..but the thought the eight legged creepy creature scared the shit out of me.
And now Jade knows that. No one knew that. Not even Mia. And now Jade knows and I am sure that she is gonna use and tease me about it for the rest of my life.

I checked my phone for any update from Drake but none had come.
I have this bad feeling that something is gonna go down bad tonight. I just hope it doesn't. I just fucking hope that the tigers take the peace offering rather than a fight.

Jade finishes her food first and excuses herself from the table. She passes me while going to her room and I grab her hand. She stops and I pull her towards my chair.

" What are you doing?"
" I'm going to bed"
I nod her way and let go of her.
Guess she really is tired.
I focus my attention to the table.
Everyone chatted away oblivious to our little exchange.

My thoughts drift to the fight again. I check my phone and notice a text from Drake.

Drake: They didn't except the contract. They want a fight.

My heart sank. I don't like this. Not one bit. I hate fighting.

I hate that my parents will put them selves in danger now. I just want to leave this fight. But I can't. The urge to avenge Mia's death is stronger than anything else.

Aaron: that's too bad. They are going down now.

Drake: Just letting you know. I think they have someone else planned. I'm sure of it.

Aaron: what makes you so sure?

Drake: our numbers are way higher than theirs. We have more guns and way more resources.

Aaron: they are highly trained. I know we are too but you know how they choose their members.

Drake: Yes but we have more resources and guns. We are trained too. I'm just saying that it's a gut feeling. They planned something big.

Aaron: I can drive back right now if you want?

Drake: It's cool. We will handle it.

Aaron: keep me updated.

I keep my phone in my pocket. I try listening to Casper talking about how he going to finally win some girl but my mind isn't into it.

Everyone then heads out to start the bonfire and I see Lilly walking up to her room to wake Jade up. I had heard Lilly talking before that Jade had asked her to wake her up if we plan something like this tonight.
" Lilly don't go. She's tired. "
She nods my way and joins the gang near the logs of wood.

I'm not in a mood to join them so I go to my room.

Jade is sharing a room with Lilly. Stacy is sharing one with Alicia. I'm sharing with Reece. While Edmund and Edward is taking one room and Casper and Xander is sharing the fourth room.

I quickly get rid of Reece's bag from my bed. And I lie down scrolling through random memes on Instagram.

That's when I hear it. Some quiet sobs and a little screaming from down the corridor. I rush towards Jade's room.
She is shaking in her sleep tear running down her face.
" No stop"
" Please stop"
My heart clenches as I hear her pleas.
I shake her and she gets up with a start.

She looks at me, fear swirls in her eyes and I hold her against my body.
" Hey it's gonna be alright. Don't worry. I'm here. Shhhh"
I rub her back and say soothing words to her until she finally stops shaking and relaxes. I try to get up making some room so she can sleep peacefully but her hands tightens around my shirt. She pulls me and I lay down next to her. She goes to sleep again and I don't make a move to move to afraid I'll wake her up again. I lay there and relax until my eyes start dropping and sleep catches up with me.
