I stare at the picture of my little sister and I shed a tear. I flick on my phone and I call her.
Hey, Gemma here, can't take your call but please leave a message and I'll call you back as soon as possible. Have a great day.
The call goes to voicemail. I sigh and I start speaking.
"Hey, Gem. I'm so sorry for all the pain I've put you through. I should've taken you out of that horrible house and out of this shitty town and away from those awful girls, but I kept you here. I am a horrible brother. I won't be here when you come back. You'll understand in time. I hope you're having a great time at the disco. Please get out of the house, go to Alison's, Míchaél's, anyone you trust. Anywhere but here. And please remember that I love you so much. You're the only thing that gave me joy anymore. Goodbye for now. I'm sorry. I love you."
I drop the phone and begin to bawl. I suddenly remember Alison's downstairs. I don't want her to hear me.
I just grab the card of tablets I got from a dealer earlier, and I pop them out. I throw them into my mouth.
I begin to feel lightheaded, and not at all pleasant. I feel more depressed than I ever have, but I dont care.
I hear Alison's voice calling me, and I hear the door open and a scream as I pass out.
