I wake up and I roll over to check the time on my phone. 8:10. Way too early. As I try to go back to sleep, the thoughts of what happened yesterday take up my mind. I couldn't imagine the pain of breaking up with Gabrielle as well as dealing with family stuff at the same time. No one knows, not Gabrielle, Gemma or my parents, that I'm still a bit fucked up from what my biological mother did. I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night thinking about her. Which is happening right now.

Some information on my mother. Her name is Clodagh, shes around 30 years old, she's with a different man every night (which is probably how I came to be) and she's just a horrible person. I have no contact with Clodagh, and neither do my parents, because we all just hate her that much. I have no clue about the other person involved in my creation and I don't know if I care. The woman and man I'm living with are everything I could ask for in parents and I love them to bits.

I turn my phone back on again and I see it's now 8:40. Great, my mind has been in overdrive for over a half hour now. I decide I'll just get up now because my parents will be awake in 20 minutes. We all get up at 9:00 on non school days so we have a bit of routine. My dad says routine is the root of a positive mental attitude and he's right. He works from home during the summer and my mother gets summer off as shes an SNA in the primary school. During the school year, my dad works in Tesco and is popular to the customers there. We're essentially a normal happy Irish family.

I decide to start cooking breakfast for the 3 of us while I wait for them to wake up. I give Gabrielle my usual good morning text, even though she won't see it for another hour at least. My parents come down the stairs just as I have the food on the table.

"Good morning, sweetie!", my mam greets as I give her a quick hug. "What's that lovely smell?"

"Uh, I woke up a little early so I cooked us breakfast.", I say with a smile.

"Wow. Aren't you the best little girl?", my dad says. I roll my eyes.

"Dad, I'm 16 years old, I'm not a baby, don't call me a little girl."

"Tashy, when you're an old woman married to Gabrielle, you'll still be our little girl.", my mam says smirking.

"Maaaaaaaaaaam.", I complain.

"Ok, kids, we can play around all day or we can sit down and eat this amazing food.", my dad interrupts.

We all giggle and we sit down and start eating. We just chat about everything, my cousins engagement, Amelia and Caoimhe having a rap battle in the square, Gabrielle, the little boy with autism my mother helps winning the spelling competition and my dad finding a dress he thinks will be perfect for me for the ball. I never once bring up the stuff with Anne and Gemma, or the thoughts of my biological mother. We just sit down as a normal family and have a great chat.

"So, Tasha,", my mother starts, "we're going to the beach today for a picnic if you want to bring Gabrielle. I know its sudden but I hope she isn't busy. I'd like to get to know my daughters girlfriend."

"Oh, mammy dearest, Gabrielle is never busy. Shes always in town with either me or one of the girls."

"You two seem a perfect match then.", my mother says cheekily.

"Don't push it, Ma." We both laugh. "I'm going to see if she has woke up yet."

"You do that, lovebird."

A while later, I'm walking over to Gabrielle's house to pick her up. My parents offered to drive over to her but I wanted to see her before she becomes Little Miss Kissass.

She comes out of the door and she has her usual T-shirt and shorts on, and she has a bag slung over her shoulders, which must be her change of clothes. She approaches me with her cheeky grin and all of a sudden, I realise how lucky I am.

"Hey, Tashy.", she says before giving me a kiss. I smile at her afterwards.

"Hi, Gabby.", I say taking her hand.

"Thanks for inviting me. I cancelled an appointment for this."

I look at her alarmingly. "Appointment? Is everything OK?"

"Yeah. They're just trying to see if I have Aspergers." She smiles even though I know its hard.

"Why have you never told me this, Gabs? Have you been tested before?"

"Since I was 13. A teacher told my mam that I was showing signs of it so of course she called this crowd. Don't ask me why it's taking so long because I really don't know. I just don't think its that big of a deal, you know?"

"I get you. My mams an SNA and one of the girls in 6th class she worked with last year has it and you wouldn't even know. She just has anxiety problems and trouble with organisation, and rambles on sometimes. Other than that though, shes a normal 12 year old. Don't worry about it because whether you have it or not, I love you and it doesn't affect a thing. Just let me know the results, ok?"

She smiles up at me. "I will of course. Thank you, Tasha." She gives my hand a squeeze.

"Anytime, little one."

We've reached my house and my parents already have the car ready to go and are sitting in it. We jump into the backseat and I prepare for Kissass Gabrielle to jump out.

"Hello, Gabrielle. It's very nice to meet you. Natasha talks about you all the time." Even mams being a kissass. She only calls me Natasha when she wants to look good.

"Very nice to meet you too, Mr and Mrs Hanrahan." Oh, Gabs.

"Please, call us John and Aoife."

When we reach the beach, my parents start setting up our blanket and we help. Then, Gabrielle suggests that we head into the sea, so my mam tells us to change behind a big rock. I know exactly what shes up to.

Gabrielle grabs my hand and starts running towards the rock, while struggle to keep up. When we are behind it, Gabrielle stares at me.

"What?", I ask.

"Where's your stuff?"

"Oh, I have it on under this."

A cunning plan goes through my head. I pull off my shirt to reveal the top of my yellow bikini and I then unbutton my shorts right there and then. I can feel her eyes on me. I then remove my converse and socks.

"Boom, I'm ready.", I say as she looks at me mindlessly. "What?", I say with a smile.

"You're so beautiful.", she says before kissing me. She's the one who adds the tongues, and I decide to stop it after a while.

"Go get changed, you filthy animal.", I say with a smirk walking away.

"TEASE!", she yells after me as I start to laugh. I may be sweet and all, but I can be a pure bitch at times. She and I both know that she loves me though.
