Samantha and I have been talking all day. She's in for alcoholism and her girlfriend urged her to go in after a heavy argument. She's lived with her since she was 17, when her parents kicked her out for being gay. That's one thing I really don't get. How people put their kids on the street because of who they like. I couldn't do that.

Later on in the day, a brother and a sister arrive. The reason so many people are coming in on the one day is because their parents were booked up for the rest of the week, the nurses at the hospital said I needed to go in today and Samantha was always going to go in today.

Their names are Sean and Saoirse, and they're 16 year old twins. They both got on weed and tablets that came from peer pressure. We all have sad stories, it seems. Then again, we're in rehab, we're not gonna be talking about jolly things.

Today was a rare day, we mostly were looking around the place and introducing ourselves to the other kids. Tomorrow, counselling. Yihoo.

"You OK, Fred?"

I snap out of my gaze and face Samantha.

"Yeah, I'm grand. Why?"

"You just looked lost there. Weird day, huh."

"Too weird." I sigh. "I have a baby sister. Well, she isn't a baby, she's doing her Junior Cert. I would worry about her. She's staying with her girlfriends family because our parents just took off and left us, basically. We're super close though, kept each other alive really. I just hope she'll be OK while I'm gone. I love her to bits."

Samantha smiles softly at me and gets off of her bed and beside me.

"I have a little brother. 13 now. He's the only member of my home family who keeps in contact with me. He has no idea I'm an alcoholic though. He would hate me for it. I've just told him I'm gone away with Laura for a few weeks. Its easier that way. I worried at first when I was separated from him but he's getting on great. He's always been independent from the time he was 8 years old. I'm sure your sister will be fine."

I smile at her. "That actually helps a lot. Thank you."

"No bother."

Sean and Saoirse then come back in, and Samantha goes over to her bed.

"Are you sure any of you don't want a smoke before bed? We have plenty.", Sean says.

"Yeah, I'm sure, I had one earlier."

"No, thanks."

The redheaded twins hop into their beds and we all turn off our lights.

I think the next 6 weeks might be OK.

A/N. Hey, y'all. Sorry this came out so late. Something happened last weekend that drained me and I had writers block for the entire week. Hope you enjoyed this and sorry again.
