I look at the contact on my phone and sigh. Then, a message from Anne comes in. It's a photo of her, Gemma, Gabrielle, Tasha and some other friends at Gabrielle's 15th. I smile as I look at it. I don't think my sister has ever been happier. I think Gemma's the one.

You all look great, hope you're enjoying yourself. x

I then go back to my contacts and I call the number.

"Alison?"

I sigh. "Mam?"

"What's up?"

"When will you guys be back? I cant keep lying to Anne. And Gemma is still here."

"When she gets out of her little phase, we'll come back. That Welch girl is bad news. I'm telling ya."

"Shes a nice girl."

"Hm, didn't she bully her for years? Now she has turned her into a fag? We heard none of that before she started being friendly with her. I'm not surprised if she turns her away from Christianity. The Welches are atheists, you know."

"So? That's their choice. And Anne has been bisexual her entire life. She fell out with Natasha a few years ago because she had feelings for her and she freaked out. She was 12 years old. This isn't new!"

"It's just unnatural, as well as a sin. I'm not having it in my house. She already tormented us with her suits, now shes throwing this on us? What's her problem?"

"What's your problem? Ever since she came out to me, and she started mixing with Gemma, she's gotten this whole group of friends. I've never seen her happier in my life. Just a few weeks ago, she was eating lunch on the floor and now, she's never alone. So, I dont think Gemmas a bad influence. And do you know what's actually a sin? Disowning your children, being hateful, committing adultry? Ever heard the saying love thy neighbour as thyself? You're the real sinner, not Anne. All shes done is love. I see no problem with that."

Theres a pause, and then, "Were not coming back. It's too much to handle. She's your responsibility now. Live your perfect little gay life without us."

"Fine! We're doing just fine without your hatred anyways! I love my sister more than anything and you obviously don't! I was surprised when I found out, but I accept her because I love her. We're better off without you guys."

"Ok. Goodbye, Alison."

"Good riddance, mother."

I put down the phone and burst into tears. How am I going to tell Anne?
