"I'm going to ask Brian. Today Y/n". Cassidy stated, determination in her yellow eyes. "You said that last week". I muttered. "Support me!" She lightly hit my arm. "I am I am! Just you better get on with it or someone's going to beat you to it!" I warned. She nodded. "Okay.. I know, I will.. um.. after lunch. But it's happening today! Whether I make you do it for me or I do it by myself!" She said. "Wait what?" I stuttered confused. She grabbed my arm. "Class Is starting let's go!"

time skip. just before dance lessons starts.

Cassidy had ended up stalling all day, and I was now forcing her to do it during the period. Snape hadn't came yet, he must be busy or just plain late. "Go now! HES Right There!!" I pushed her harshly into him. I watched from a small distance hiding behind people whom were talking and walking around with their chosen partners. Listening quietly and stealthily.

"Erm.. hey Brian, I was just going to ask you, well.. I wanted.. I-i wanted.. to know.. if.. youwould.. go to the... dancewithme?!?!"
She bit out every word, stuttery and it was painfully obvious she was nervous.

"I already..well sorry, I'm just already taken. I'm sorry, she just asked me during lunch and.. well just know, if you asked me before I would've said definitely yes. Sorry Cass".

"M-May I.. ask who?"

"Pansy, Pansy Parkinson".

"oh".

"Look im really sorry I--"

"I'm going to head back to Y/n now".

"Wait Just listen-"

"stay away from me!"

She suddenly snapped at him, glaring at him and storming away.

Cassidy came back rushing into me and taking my hand shakily, her eyes filling with tears. I looked at her, full of pity. Her heart must be broken. I hugged her. She hugged back tightly, holding her tears. She was strong, I wished I could be better help to her. "I'm so sorry". I muttered. "I-It isn't your fault. I should've asked him this morning, i was too late". She shakily stuttered out, her voice beginning to tighten and crack. A lump forming in her throat which she couldn't force back down. I rubbed her back. "I just know another boy will ask you". I said trying to make her smile. "You think so?" She has hope in her voice. "Of course, your the prettiest girl I know. And the cutest". I smiled and kissed her cheek. I heard a whistle and began to glare towards them. A few much older Slytherin's. This wasn't the time for jokes.. I looked at a Them and I felt my hand twitch. Glaring intensely. She was in need of moral support..

I shot them my middle finger and continued to hug Cassidy. A few people gasping and whispering. It wasn't very like me to be harsh, I was usually nice. As nice as I could be anyway. It was also just unexpected of me. But I was in no mood to be made fun of. Nor get Cassidy even more heartbroken.

Severus- I Mean, Professor Snape.. walked in finally and I put my finger down, calming myself. I pulled away from Cassidy and smiled at her. "It'll be okay". She nodded and began smiling, stopping her tears once and for all. Not that she really let any out. "Get with your partners". Snape ordered. I waved to Cassidy, but she grabbed my arm before I could head to Blaise, who was waiting for me. "Will you dance with me? I just.. I don't wanna dance with a boy right now". She asked sheepishly, I nodded. I gave a im sorry my bestfriend is sad dance with someone else glance to Blaise who nodded and walked away. "Can you be the boy?" She asked making me laugh. I nodded in between laughter. "Of course". I said and put my hand on her waist and the other on my shoulder. I began to get closer and hold her a bit closer, dancing. I was comfortable with her, she was my bestfriend. I danced her nice and slow, calm for her. I'm sure she needed it. I loved my bestfriend, as a friend that is. I will be there for her as much as I can. "That's improper". I heard Snape say, making me glare at him. "Shut up--"

I was about to continue, until I realized what I just said. What I'd just said to this Professor. I widenened my eyes, and froze. "I mean-"

"Detention Miss.. L/n". He stated clearly, a spiteful look in his eye. I rolled my eyes and sighed. Well what do you expect when you tell a student they're constantly wrong? Even going as far to call them an idiot, to write it on a paper in big red bold letters.. I sighed and continued to slow dance with Cassidy ignoring him.

The rest of class continued on like that. Everyone else dancing properly while I held her, and petted her hair. It was what she needed.

When it ended she thanked me and we went our ways. She said she was going to spend sometime in our dorm, and I said I would go read in the library.

Except I wasn't. I would have detention later but for the time being.. I rushed to Draco, whom seemed surprise by me, rushing helplessly to him. "Hey Y/n". He greeted, smiling at me. "I need your help". I said bluntly. Not greeting him back. "Is that why you came over here-"

"If you do this favor for me I'll forgive you. I swear, it'll prove to me your a true friend and prove you didn't mean what happened to me to happen". I said hoping he'd agree. He bit his lip and looked at his feet in thought. "I understand. What's the favor?" He asked curiosity in his voice. "Ask Cassidy to the dance and show her a beautiful night, give her everything she deserves". I explained, he tilted his head and thought. A strange plain look on his face, a deep thought. "Alright. I'll give her what she deserves".

"Thank you!" I smiled up at him sighing in relief and hugging him. He hugged back. He smelt of heavy expensive cologne so I pulled away quite early. "Thank you so much". I parted my way and began walking away, giving a small wave. He seemed so nice, but something was off about him. I'd have to see how this planned out.

after detention. When you're heading back to the common room.

I opened the common room doors lightly being quiet. I was absolutely exhausted. Snape had made me do almost every task he could think of. I polished his wand, even polished his shoes, while he worked.. I cleaned his cauldron, I fixed the ingredients cabinet, I fixed every desk and scraped off any gum from underneath. He was so cross.

I was greeted by Cassidy pouncing onto me and hugging me tightly. "You won't believe who asked me out earlier!" She whispered into my ear. I grinned and looked at her playing dumb. "Who?" I asked. "Draco". She whisper yelled and whisper screamed. I giggled. "Told you, you have admirers I knew it". I flattered making her giggle. She was so sweet I hope he really gives her everything special on the ball night. I'd just have to wait and see..
