My eyes opened mechanically, this was no ordinary flutter of the eyelashes. No, this was quick, a ventriloquist click of the lids. Fast and awake. I was unfortunately awake.
I turned over and tapped the alarm, quieting the loud ruckus. Time to get ready I suppose.

I was hardly awake the whole morning. I hardly talked, and when I did it was usually grumbles and syllables. My eyes felt particularly heavy, Remus was waiting with me at the train station. I hadn't met with anyone I knew yet so he said he'd stay with me. He towered next to me as I waited, holding onto my luggage for me like the gentlemen he is.

This year was going to be long, I could feel it. "Are you excited?" Remus asked with a smile, trying to cheer my glum up. My mouth twisted into a fake smile. "Very". I replied.

"There you are, I've been looking all for you! Did you even get my owls?!"

A high and mighty atmosphere quickly filled the train station as the blonde sauntered over to me. A green and silver luggage in hand. A small frown plastered on his face. He was going to wait for me? Cute.

Remus suddenly got stiff next to me, but he stood idly by and noticeably quiet.

"Hey I know you, you were our defense against the—"

Out of instinct I quickly took Draco's hand and slipped my luggage away from Remus's grasp and into my own. "Oh look! The train's here! Bye remus! I expect your owl!" I dismissed quickly, dragging Draco away, earning an understanding smirk from Remus.

Once we settled on the train Draco gave me a suspicious glare. "What was that all about? You're acting very... off". He questioned suspiciously eyeing me up and down. "Hm? Nothing? Train was here". I shrugged innocently. Draco huffed.

"Have you got an answer? Why haven't you been responding to my owls?" Draco pestered whining. I rose an eyebrow curiously. "What owls?" I asked. I couldn't recall getting any letters from Draco almost all summer. At least not since I moved out from—-

I suddenly stiffened my posture and stared at Draco with horrific realization.

"What? Have I got something on my face?" He started to pat his face, insecurities running through his head.

"Were you sending them to Spinner's End?"
I asked urgently.
He gave me a weirded out look and nodded.

"That's not where you've been off to?"
I nodded no at him, a new atmosphere entered the room. It was called awkward.

"I can't believe Snape has been getting my letters!"
Draco complained. The train had been going for a bit and Draco had been whining the entire time. I rolled my eyes.

"It's not like he read them". I shrugged unphased by it now.
Draco's mouth twisted into a discomforted frown, what was so wrong?
"He's my godfather". Draco whispered to me with a bothered look, was that so bad?
"WHAT?!" I shouted in surprise. Draco kicked me under the table. Ouch...

"Keep it down, my mother has some strange attachment to him, as does—-" Draco froze up and looked away, clearly frustrated. "My father". He finished.

Eventually Pansy and Blaise had come over to chat and converse, and sit with us. I sat next to Draco, Blaise across from me, and Pansy across from Draco.
