Sedgeheart's head dropped in disappointment, and she nodded once. She wasn't surprised. The situation had turned into one where anyone who was accused was exiled. She turned to Shadeflight, who looked just as upset.
"Well, shall we head for StreamClan?" the brown tabby asked. Shadeflight shook her head, and glanced at the camp.
"I'd rather be a loner than join another clan. You go on. There's nothing for me in StreamClan. I'm going to go find somewhere in the woods to stay," she mewed. Sedgeheart nodded, then padded off towards the StreamClan border.
Shadeflight looked back at the cats apologetically, especially Batwhisker. "I'm sorry. I never wanted to hurt anyone. My partner . . . he made me. Goodbye". She turned and dashed into the trees, leaving them shocked.
"Shadeflight, wait! What do you mean?" Batwhisker cried frantically. He took a few bounds in her direction, but stopped and turned back to the other three toms. "Did . . . did she just confess to being a murderer?"
"I'm sorry, Batwhisker," Ivywing croaked. He looked up at the black tom sympathetically. "But I think so". Batwhisker sat down on the ground, staring dumbly at his paws. He remained that way, until Badgerpath nudged him into a den so he would go to sleep.
Once all of the cats were asleep, the murderer got up with a smirk on his face. Once he killed his next target, only two more toms would be left.
He padded into the medicine cat den, where Ivywing was currently sleeping. Oh, he hadn't been the one to attack the tom. That had been Shadeflight. However, he didn't like having loose ends.
He stood above the injured warrior with his claws unsheathed. Hmm. It appeared that Shadeflight had tried to be merciful again. He didn't agree with that.
He happily started clawing at the tom's fur and skin. Blood ran everywhere, and the sounds of Ivywing's muffled cries rang in his ears. Then, they stopped, and he stepped away.

Badgerpath woke up in the morning, and went to check on all of the other cats. First, Berryleaf. The red tom was sleeping peacefully, stretched out in the warriors den. Next, Batwhisker. The sleek, black tom had surrounded himself with the moss from Shadeflight's nest in the nursery. A feeling of dread pooled in Badgerpath's stomach as he entered the medicine cat den.
He had to stop himself from vomiting when he saw Ivywing's body. The young warrior had been completely clawed, his fur stained red from the blood. This cat was a sadist.
The black and white tom left the den, and woke up Berryleaf and Batwhisker. The two cats drowsily exited their respective dens. Badgerpath sat down in front of them in the middle of the camp.
"I am the deputy. With Robinstar dead, I will become the next leader of LeafClan. But first, we need to exiled the murderer," he mewed. He turned to Berryleaf, who was yawning.
"I think that you are the murderer, Berryleaf. You may act innocent, but I think you're just hiding it. It would be the perfect act. The poor, shy tom, whose entire family is dead. I don't buy it. Now, we vote," Badgerpath declared. Berryleaf tried to protest, but Badgerpath cut him off with a flick of his tail. The message was clear. They were voting, whether Berryleaf wanted to or not.
