"Xingo is innocent," Tankani declared, pulling her cub close to her. Kapok joined the hug, happily touching his nose to his sister's. Meanwhile, Maderas nosed around Angra's body, before pulling back with a surprised cry.

"She smells like garra roots!" he exclaimed, pulling back. He glanced around at the others, confused. "Why would she smell like garra roots?"

"I can explain that. She was our shaman. She gave me garra roots for my joints," Rugido croaked. The tribe let out cries of despair, their situation even more hopeless.

"Everyone, calm down! We can't do anything right now. Just go along with your normal routines. Maybe this murderer won't attack anyone else," Galho ordered. The tribe complied, but knew that he was just saying that for their benefits. The murderer wouldn't stop until they were caught.

Galho woke up, and immediately knew that something was wrong. His denmates no longer surrounded him, he was sleeping on the open ground, and the sky was completely dark.

"You know why you're here, I suppose?" the high-pitched voice asked, not yet revealing their shadowed form. Galho nodded, immediately unsheathing his claws.

"Yes, I do. But I'm going to kill you, and return home. You can't win," he growled. The shadow cat stepped out of the trees, laughing hysterically.

"Oh, that's amusing. You think I haven't recruited to plan for that? If I'm to die, my partner will kill you instead," it hissed. Then it leapt at him, eyes glowing red. Galho met it halfway, claws outstretched.

"You'll never win! I won't let you!" he roared as he slammed the shadow cat into the ground. It let out a chuckle, then tore into his stomach and pushed him off.

"You all make the same mistake. Believing there are rules. But there aren't, not anymore," it hissed. Galho didn't respond, having already passed to the Tribe of Endless Hunting.

"No! Galho!" Maderas cried, nudging the unmoving jaguar with his paw. The rest of the tribe woke up, stirring and murmuring incoherently.

"How are they doing it? Galho was the warchief! This murderer is killing all of our high ranking members!" Preto announced. A sense of panic began to spread through the group, as they realized what was happening.

"We have to catch them!" Ramo growled furiously. The others voiced their agreement, especially Javari, Raio, and Machupo. This would not go unpunished.

"Why are you so eager to hunt for 'them', Ramo?" Chuva asked, glaring at him. The head fighter looked at her with shock, before narrowing his eyes with disapproval.

"What are you suggesting, Chuva? That I'm the one who did this?" he asked, voice full of disbelief. Chuva nodded, meeting his gaze.

"That's exactly what I'm saying. We must hold a vote! Ramo is the murderer!" the young fighter yowled. She didn't back down from Ramo's gaze, as her tail lashed back and forth.
