Ripple, Horizon, and Fall let out identical sighs of relief, once they had been called out as innocent. Gust lashed her tail in frustration, glaring at the only cat who had accused her, Leap. "Just because your family is gone, doesn't mean you should attack mine." She hissed, causing Leap to bare her own fangs in return before being whisked away by Float and Flight respectively. Chase padded to her mate's side, nuzzling her shoulder comfortingly. "We'll catch the murderer soon, don't worry." She murmured to the female.

Lunge and Climb were brought away by Rustle, Fall, and Prance. The Tribe buried their loved ones in a dip in the ground, where many colorful flowers bloomed. Rustle dug graves for his mate and kit, and then he and his family sat by the mounds, their heads bowed. Fall leaned into her father's side, her muzzle buried in his chest fur. Prance, normally bouncy, sat on his own. He was never very close to his mother or brother, instead preferring to go his own way. The male had not expected for them to leave him so quickly, and now his mind was wrapped around what could have been if Prance had just spent more time with them.

Eventually, Rustle sent Prance and Fall away so the large male could grieve on his own. Rustle had no connections to the rest of the Tribe, other than his mate and his children, who he cared for very deeply.

A rustling in the grasses behind him caused the male's head to whip around, though he visibly relaxed when none other than Float padded into sight. She seemed surprised to see him. "I was just coming here to visit Streak, but if you're grieving, I'll leave." The female meowed, dipping her head to Rustle, before beginning to turn away.

Rustle called out after her, his ever-loud voice cracking through the air, "No, it's okay." A flicker of surprise crossed Float's face, though she did not protest. The prey-hunter padded to Rustle's side, gently sitting down next to him.

The pair stayed there for quite a while, talking to each other about their dead family. They were gone so long, in fact, that she figured out what must have been going on.

Her partner followed behind closely, as she stalked through the grasses. Her plan was working, and soon the grasslands would be cleansed for the betterment of all.

So engrossed were Rustle and Float in their conversation, that they did not notice the two murderers sneaking up behind them until it was too late. She jumped onto Rustle's back, shoving the large cat into the dirt, his muzzle landing only a few inches from where his mate laid.

Float screeched, and began to run away. Her partner attempted to stop her, but Float was too fast, and zipped by. Cursing, she snapped at her partner to finish the deed, and then ran after Float.

Rustle, stunned by the attack, could do nothing as his throat was ripped out. The partner fled into the grasses, wanting to get away as quick as possible.

Float was fast, but not as fast as her pursuer. The female was eventually brought down in the manner one would bring down prey, her shoulder torn open, and then her throat.

The murderers returned to camp together, not gaining a second glance.

As the day went on, Prance, Fall, Flight, and Roll started up a ruckus about how their respective family members had not returned. A search party was sent out, and the news was brought back to their families. Now, the desire to find the murderers burned in their hearts stronger than ever.
