Plumsong's face changed from relief to shock, as Cherrypool, his sister, voted to exile him. The ginger tom looked at her, clearly betrayed. She refused to meet his eyes. He turned to the other cats, and held his head high.

"You're all doomed. No medicine cat apprentice to save you now, is there?" he spat, tail lashing. With his hackles raised in anger, he strode out of the barn, leaving the other cats to stare at each other in silence. They had exiled their medicine cat. All murders would now be successful. Plumsong was right. Their situation was practically hopeless.

"StarClan save us, we're already dead," Goatleap declared, shaking her lowered head. None of the cats had a response to that. They all just split up, and went to their own separate areas of the barn. Even Cherrypool and Bullheart split up.

"Goodnight, Bullheart. I hope I see you tomorrow," she mewed quietly, and touched her nose to his. Bullheart looked at her with despair, and shook his head.

"You will see me tomorrow," he declared stubbornly. They both looked at each other for another moment, as if it might be the last time they would see each other in FarmClan. For Cherrypool, it would be. That night, as she slept alone in her bed, a murderer slunk out of their nest and headed toward hers.

Like all of the previous victims, Cherrypool didn't make a sound as the murderer dealt with her, then dragged her out of the barn. Neither did Goatleap, whose nest was on the other side of the barn, as the other murderer did the exact same thing to her. Jobs complete, the murderers went back to sleep.

In the morning, Peartail woke up. She let out a sigh of relief at the fact. But then she looked at the nest closest to her, Goatleap's nest, and saw that it was empty.

"Goatleap is dead!" the elder cried, waking up the other three cats in the barn. It was Almondfall who found Cherrypool's empty nest moments after that.

"So is Cherrypool," the tabby tom said sadly. Bullheart, who had been drowsily getting up, immediately let out a sob and ran to her nest. When he found it empty, he collapsed to the ground next to it, and buried his face in the hay.

Mousepaw, although relieved that she hadn't lost another family member, couldn't bear to look at the grieving Bullheart. She just stared at her paws, and lightly flicked her tail back and forth.
