We made our way to our room. "Time for bed kiddo." I say as we enter the dorm. "Can I stay up?"He asked pleadingly. "Nope." Clem replied popping the P with a smirk. "Two more minutes?" AJ begged. "Tell you what you lay down and then we'll see." Clementine said placing her hat down.
AJ happily got on the bed and sat down with his legs crossed. "You full from dinner?" I ask. "Yeah it was good." AJ replied with a big grin. "Yeah, it was." Clem agrees.
"I like it here." AJ interrupts the short silence. "We got to go hunting! And Louis seemed to have a good time too." AJ added. Clem looked away. "Speaking of which, how did your fishing go with Violet." She asked. "Oh, nothing special I found a cute keychain to put in my photo book. And I helped Violet and Brody with a small conflict. It was pretty fun." I recalled the day.
"It's nice. Not driving everywhere, or running away." AJ said as Clem and I sat on either side of him. I nodded. "But the ranch was nice, too. Before the blood." I frowned as the memories flooded into my head. "This isn't the ranch," Clem assured AJ. "Do you like it? I like it now that I'm used to it." AJ told us. "Yeah it's a nice place and has some good people," I replied. "Its good to feel safe somewhere." Clem also commented.
"Now you got to stay up two minutes more. Time for sleep." Clementine said getting up and I follow her action sitting at our bed opposite his. "I'll lay down when you blow out the candle." AJ stated. "Alright give me a minute." Clem agreed. I watched as she put a cat skull down on the shelf. "That's cool." I mention. "I know right." Clem turned to me. "Like, really cool." AJ exaggerated. Clem took notice of the two backpacks that lied next to the shelf. "So used to lugging it everywhere. Never knowing when we'd find any supplies." I nodded, "Kinda feel lighter." I say bouncing on the bed little. She then placed Tenn's drawing next to AJ's on the wall. "That's a good drawing.. he's a good artist." AJ complimented the drawing. "Yep." I agreed. "Your picture is good too." Clem responded. "Oh I know." AJ acknowledged, I chuckled at his cockiness.
Clem was about to blow out the candle but then stopped and gave AJ a cheeky look, I instantly knew what she was about to do. "Goodnight. Sleep tight." I began. "Don't let a walker bite. And if they try?.." Clem continued. "I never let em bite." AJ finished looking smug. "Come on play it right." Clementine insisted. AJ put his hands in a gun shape. "Bang." He finished our little rhyme. "Good work, and thanks." Clementine praised. AJ closed his eyes and Clem blew out the candles before also laying in bed and going to sleep.
