Just He, And I, And The Lullaby
.
We took a walk one afternoon,
To watch the flowers bloom.
Just he, and I, and the lullaby
Of rain on the river,
And sheets on the shore.
.
Cataracts of glistening light
Filled my heart, oh to see such a sight!
Just he, and I, and the lullaby
Of cries on the coastline,
And magic in the moor.
.
And to think the fragrance of the night
Was love at once, at last, first sight.
Shadows of a life untold
Underneath the bow unfold.
.
Just he, and I, and the lullaby
Of life as you life it,
And truth as you give it.
.
Cascading colors, a trick of light,
Forecast a love so fond of night.
Just he, and I, and the lullaby
Of red in the rainbow
And youth in you and me.
