Love yourself, again
I see you shed those treacherous tears
those bloodshot eyes scream in pain,
you think it's tough to erase these fears
but I know you'll stand back up again.
I hear you whisper apologies tonight
those trembling lips quiver in strain,
you think your love won't shine so bright
but I know you'll love back fiercely again.
I feel your body tremble like leaves
those dry skin cells reaching out in vain,
you think your touch cannot deceive
but I know you'll smile back wider again.
I let you taste your lingering defeat
those sweat beads run down like a train,
you think it's hard to enjoy this treat
but I know you'll sigh in relief again.
I think you are beyond perfection
those scars are signs of soldiers slain,
don't worry, for I am your reflection
and I know you will love yourself again.
