Chapter 15

I sat on the cold grass kneeling over Audrey's head. I heard Hunter slowly walking up to me. She put her hand onto my shoulder.

"Gabriella we have to go" She said.

I turned around and saw a few Walkers coming towards us. Most likely following the gun shots.

"What about her?" I said trying to keep myself together.

Hunter looked up at the Walkers coming towards us. She then ran over to Audrey's body and grabbed her arms. Anastasia ran over and helped grab her legs. They lifted her body up.

"Come on. We will go hide in the shopping centre" Hunter said.

I sat there.

"Gabriella come on!" Hunter yelled.

I stood up, wiped my tears away and picked up Audrey's head. Luke and Tyler both got up as well. We all ran towards the shopping centre. We burst through the doors, Hunter and Anastasia put Audrey's body down on the ground and then they quickly started pushing tables in front of the door so Walkers couldn't get in.

"Are you going to help?" Hunter said.

I put Audrey's head down by her body and I quickly walked over to a few tables and dragged them over to the door while crying. Tyler and Luke were also helping. When we enforced all the doors we all stopped to get our breath back. Luke and Tyler were just standing there looking hopeless. I could never forget their faces. I started to hear moaning on the floor. I looked down and saw Audrey's jaw opening and closing. I stepped back and fell to the ground crying nonstop. Hunter slowly put her knife through her brain and took off her jacket. She put it over Audrey's head and body and stepped back. I crawled over to Audrey's body and leaned on her.

I saw Hunter staring at something in the corner of my eye. She slowly walked over to what she was staring at and got on her knees. She picked it up. It was an axe. It was Sam's old axe.

"He dropped it here when he got his new knifes" Hunter said.

She put the axe onto her belt and walked off. Luke and Tyler all came over to Audrey's body and cried over her. Anastasia was sitting by herself against the wall and Hunter walked off somewhere.

HUNTER

I quickly walked over to a store and went in. I quickly fell to the ground and started to cry. All of this made me think that Sam may be dead. But also because I lost a friend. I took out Sam's axe from my belt and held it tightly in my hands. I put my hand on my stomach which was already pretty big. Even though people tell me to stay back, I just can't. I need to see if Sam is ok. I need to see him again. I wiped all the signs of me crying away off my face and got myself together. I then walked out of the store towards the rest.

"Are we going to stay the night? Or should we make our move soon?" I said.

"I think we should stay here for at least a few more minutes. Just to get ourselves together" Anastasia said.

The others didn't respond because they were still crying.

"That's fine. Ok guys where leaving in a few minutes. Before all the Walkers in the area come for us. We need to make a run for our car and get out of here" I said.

"Wait... what about Audrey's body?" Luke said.

"What do you mean? We are taking her with us. Did you really think I would tell you to leave her body behind?" I said.

"No. I didn't.... I just wanted to make sure" Luke said.

Gabriella stood up and wiped all her tears away.

"I'm ready to go" She said.

I walked over to Audrey's body and slowly picked up her legs. Luke picked up her arms and we both lifted her. Gabriella took her head which was wrapped up in her jacket. We moved towards the door and took everything down. We then rushed out. While Anastasia, Gabriella and Tyler all took out the Walkers around the door. We rushed towards the van as Audrey slowly slipped out of my hands. But we made it to the van in time. Anastasia took Audrey's legs for me and I ran over to the drivers seat. I turned the key but the van didn't start.

"The cars not starting!" I yelled.

I saw Gabriella looking at the petrol cap.

"The petrol tank was shot!" Gabriella said.

"Shit!" I yelled getting out of the van.

I ran over and saw petrol all over the grass. Anastasia lost grip of Audrey's legs and dropped her. I looked around and saw a bunch of Walkers coming around us.

"Shit! Hurry up! Pick her up!" I yelled.

I quickly swapped with Anastasia and we made a run for it. We saw an opening and made a run for it. We got past all the Walkers and kept running.

"They are just going to keep following us" Gabriella said.

"Maybe we can turn off here and send them away from the Adelaide Oval" I said.

We all decided to go with what I said and we all turned right. We then quickly ran as fast as we could and turned left at the next road.

"That's should confuse them a little. Everyone ok" I said.

I looked around and saw everyone. No one was talking. I looked forward and kept running. Gabriella, Anastasia and Tyler all checked each car we ran past to see if it could drive. But all of them didn't have any petrol in them, because most of the cars around here we got our petrol from. I looked over at Luke.

"Luke. Did you tell them anything about us?" I asked.

He didn't answer. But then suddenly he looked up.

"Yes. Audrey told them we're our safe zone was" Luke said.

"Why?" I asked.

"Because they were threatening to kill both Tyler and I. She had no choice" Luke said.

"We've got to get home fast and tell them about this" I said.

"That's going to end badly. They are already scared about these three being taken without Sam being here. If they see that Audrey is dead, plus if they find out that they know where we live then they are gonna go crazy" Gabriella said.
