We didn't find a single car with petrol so we were forced to walk back to the Adelaide Oval while carrying Audrey's body. I started to feel pain in my stomach. I feel to the floor dropping Audrey's body. I held my stomach and Gabriella ran over to me.
"Shit. Is it time?" Gabriella said.
"No. I think there's still at least a month left" I said.
"Then whats wrong?" Gabriella asked.
"I don't know. My stomach just started to really hurt out of nowhere" I said.
Gabriella got me up.
"Anastasia take over and carry Audrey's body. We need to get home quickly to see if the baby is ok" Gabriella said.
Gabriella put her arm around me and basically dragged me all the way back. I saw Luke look behind us. His face turned from looking depressed to looking scared.
"Guys! The horde caught up to us!" Luke yelled.
We all stopped and looked behind us to see the horde. It was quite far away.
"We should be fine. Just keep going" Gabriella said.
Eventually after being dragged for at least thirty minutes we finally made it to the Adelaide Oval. The horde thankfully wasn't in sight anymore. We all got to the gate and Cooper opened the gate looking down at Audrey's body. We moved inside. Lots of people started to flood around us all looking at Audrey's corpse. Anastasia and Luke both put Audrey's body down on a table and Gabriella put her head down that she was holding in her other hand while she was dragging me.
"What happened?" A man said looking shocked.
Nobody answered.
"Do they know where we are?" Another person said.
"No. We are safe. They have no idea where we are at the moment" Gabriella said lying.
"What if they followed you!" A woman said.
"We are all going to die! We need Sam!" A man said.
"Everyone shut the fuck up! We just lost someone close to us, and this is how you treat us as soon as we get back. All I'm going to say is that we are safe for now, and if they ever do find us, we will have Sam by then. I promise" Gabriella said.
It went quite for a few minutes.
"I don't believe one word!" A woman yelled.
"We need to evacuate. Or else we are all going to die" a man said.
Most of the people ran off, possibly to pack all of their things. Gabriella couldn't be bothered anymore. She put her arm around my shoulder again and walked me over to the infirmary. She sat me down on the hospital bed and I laid down.
"Thank you" I said.
She put her hand on my arm and looked into my eyes. She tried to let out a smile then slowly walked outside. The doctor came up to me and looked at me.
"And what are you here for Hunter?" The doctor said.
"When I was out there my stomach began to really hurt. I don't know, I just want to know if the baby's ok" I said.
He looked at me in my eyes. He then checked my stomach using the heart beat monitor thing that doctors use. I don't even know what it's called. It felt cold. He smiled and looked back up to me.
"The baby is fine. A strong constant heart beat" the doctor said.
"Then what do you think the pain came from?" I asked.
The doctor took off his glasses and put them on his table.
"You're not going to like what you hear but I think it's because you are going so much stress at the moment. I suggest having a break and not going beyond these walls at least until the baby is born and you are back to full health" the doctor said.
I didn't say anything.
"I know you want to find Sam very badly. But there's others doing that as well. Ana and her people are probably searching for him as we speak" the doctor said.
I sighed. I didn't like what I heard, but if it's best I think I have to stay behind. I got up out of the hospital bed.
"Ok. Thank you" I said walking out of the infirmary.
As I walked out I looked around for Megan. But I couldn't see her anywhere. I walked across the Oval to Sam and I's bedroom. I saw Megan curled in a ball on the bed. I sat down next to her and she looked up at me. She gave me a quick hug and I felt her tears running down my leg and my arm. I hugged her tightly and cried with her.
"It's all going to be fine. We will find him, and he will be fine. Trust me" I said.
Megan didn't say anything. Instead she put her head close to me. I laid down on the bed and pulled her up to me. I hugged her as we laid down. Soon we both fell asleep.
GABRIELLA
I sat down next to Audrey's body.
"Um, Gabriella. Hey" someone said behind me.
I turned around and saw that it was Paul.
"Yeah. What's up?" I asked.
"I am killing myself of boredom and I feel like I am lazy as hell. If I could do anything to help out, maybe I could dig a grave, I could try to calm things down between everyone, I could organise a funeral as well. Literally anything" Paul said.
"Yeah. All of those would be helpful" I said.
"Ok, cool. I'll get started. Oh and one more thing. Thank you for giving me a chance. Most people these days would shoot on sight. So I thank you" Paul said.
"This place is about rebuilding. For the future. For the youngest to become the eldest. That was what Sam used to say anyway" I said.
"I would love to meet him" Paul said.
"You will. We will find him" I said.
"You will" Paul said walking away grabbing a shovel.
I held Audrey's hand and closed my eyes as I smelt something disgusting. I pinched my nose and looked around. I could see the smell was coming from some meat. I walked over to the person cooking.
"I think the meat is rotten. It reeks" I said.
"It smells fine to me" The man said.
I sniffed in. I quickly turned around and ran towards a tree. I vomited, and all I could think of was that if I was pregnant.
