Chapter 2

JEREMY

I looked at Sam unconscious lying on the ground. I picked up his revolver and took out the bullets. I threw them away and quickly got into the car. I turned the key and did a U turn to head back towards the Adelaide Oval. I got down the road quite far when I saw a horde in front of me. I turned the car off and winded up the windows. I waited for the horde to pass and once it did I started the car up again and started to drive. I made it to the Adelaide Oval front gate. I got out of the car and walked over to the front gate.

"It's me!" I yelled.

"Your back! Where's Sam!?" Cooper said who is someone who takes over my shift sometimes.

"He's gone. He didn't make it. He got bit and told me to leave him. I just got away" I said.

"Holy shit" Cooper said opening the gate.

The gate was fully opened and I walked in. I saw a lot of people walking up to me. They were all confused. I kept walking. I walked past Gabriella.

"Where's Sam?" Gabriella asked me.

"He got bit. He didn't make it. I'm going to tell Hunter" I said.

"Hunter isn't in the hospital bed she's sitting with Megan over there" Gabriella said pointing to her.

"Thank you" I said walking over to them.

I looked behind me and saw Ana and all of Gabriella's Group all watching me and talking to each other. They know that I let Will out, and they are probably guessing Sam didn't get bitten.

"Hunter" I said.

She turned around and looked at me.

"Yes?" Hunter said.

"I need to tell you something" I said.

"Is Sam back?" Hunter asked.

I got down on my knees and looked Hunter into her eyes. She started to look scared and sad.

"Sam, Sam was bitten. After he was bitten he ran into the horde and was ripped to shreds. He saved my life" I said.

"You're lying" Hunter said crying.

"What?" Megan said turning around to face me.

"Sam is dead Hunter" I said.

Hunter stood up and fell to the ground balling her eyes out. Megan dropped her pencils and started crying loudly. I stood up and walked away. I walked to my room and sat down on my bed. I saw Ana walk in.

"What did you do with Sam?" Ana asked.

"He got bitten" I said.

"Why would I believe you when you were the one who let Will out" Ana said.

"Nobody will know" I said.

"Oh, there's a few people who know" Ana said.

"Well one of them is dead" I said taking out my knife.

Ana quickly tried to grab her gun, but as she aimed it at me I quickly rushed into her pushing her into the wall. She yelled in pain. I went to stab her in the stomach but she put her arm in the way and I stabbed her arm instead. She pushed me backwards and I fell to the ground. She grabbed her gun and aimed it at my head.

"Don't you fucking move, you bastard" Ana said staring angrily into my eyes.

Gabriella and her group rushed in and tied me up. They grabbed me and pushed me out of my room. They dragged me past Hunter who was still balling her eyes out on the grass and Megan who was crying into her arms on the table. They all chucked me into the empty cell next to Lauren's cell and locked the cell door.
