Chapter 21

GABRIELLA

"Hey Ana. Sorry we haven't been in contact much. We have just been very busy with this new group that killed on of ours. Still no sighting of Sam" I said taking my finger off the button on the Walkie Talkie

I stood up and waited for a response.

"Hey Gabriella. If you are in need of any assistance we can come over and lend a hand. We don't have anything new on Sam as well" Ana said.

"That's ok. We will contact you if we are in trouble again though" I said.

I put the Walkie Talkie down on the table. I then reached over to the pregnancy test I found. I took it out of the packet and kneeled down. I started to pee on it. Once I was done I brought it up and waited a couple of seconds. Nothing came up. I was kind of relieved, but then a line started to show up. It says I was pregnant. I quickly grabbed the packet and looked at the use by date. It was out of date. But it's possible it could still be functional. I laid back on my chair. I threw it away and I grabbed my hair with both of my hands. I pulled my hair in frustration. All I could think about was Anastasia. Soon she would find out and then she would hate me forever.

I heard someone climbing up the ladder up to where I was which was the guard post. I quickly grabbed the pregnancy test box and threw it over the wall. I then sat back down on my chair and looked over as Anastasia climbed up.

"Hey" Anastasia said.

"Hey" I said.

Anastasia slowly walked up to me.

"Come on make some space" Anastasia said.

I quickly shuffled over letting Anastasia sit next to me. Our shoulders and legs were touching as she laid against me.

"Are you alright?" I asked.

"Yeah. I'm fine. I just wanted to see how you were doing. How are you doing?" Anastasia said.

"Yeah, I'm fine. It gets pretty boring up here by myself so it's good to have someone up here with me" I said.

"Yeah I feel that" Anastasia responded.

We both looked out at the sun as it slowly came over the horizon. Which is something most of us love to do. For me it reminds me of the times before. Every morning I would make a cup of coffee and sit out the front porch, watching the sun set. Even though I forget what the world use to sound like. I miss the city's noises. Cars driving all over the place, a few speeding or beeping their horns. A couple planes flying over my head, dogs barking and baby's crying. I miss all of it. I guess soon I will be hearing baby's crying, that would bring back a few forgotten memories.

Anastasia held my hand and leaned over to me. She started to kiss me on my mouth and I kissed her back. As we started getting into it I could hear loud cars screeching down the road. We both quickly got up and looked over. It was the same cars that belonged to the people that killed Audrey. I grabbed my gun and started to shoot at them. The cars dodged and weaved finally coming to a stop. I saw all of the car doors open and I saw people rushing out.

"Shit" I said quickly turning around to ring the bell.

I grabbed a hold of the rope and started to swing it around making the bell ring. I saw people all looking up to us. I quickly ran back and looked back at them. I then heard another vehicle driving down the road. It was a truck with a massive spiky cone on the front of it, and it wasn't stopping. It drove past the cars and rammed right into our gate smashing through it. I started to shoot at the windows of the truck hoping I would hit someone. The truck carrier opened and about twenty or more people walked out of it all holding knifes and large swords. A few with bows. Then a man walked out from the drivers seat. He was padded with full body armour. I shot at him but no bullet went through the armour.

"What do we do?" I said.

At that moment I started to hear cracks. Where the gate was broken caused a massive crack, and the crack was becoming bigger and bigger reaching our guard post. The guard post started to wobble. Slowly it began to fall.

"Hold on!" I yelled as it fell.

It went black as we hit the ground. Soon I started to hear screams and people running all around me. I opened my eyes and saw right in front of me the leader of the group kill our only doctor. I then noticed I was being dragged towards him. He walked over to Hunter. He got on his knees and looked her into her eyes.

"It wasn't an even trade. I killed one of yours for a punishment. But then what do you go and do? You kill more of my people then I killed yours. So it's time to fucking pay" he said.

"Wait!" I yelled as he was about the execute Hunter.

"Don't! Please! She's fucking pregnant" I yelled at the top of my lungs.

He stopped and looked over at me.

"That would just make me feel way better" he said.

I saw something move on the corner of my eye. I looked at it and saw Megan hiding behind a table. The leader walked back over to Hunter and was about to kill her, and at that moment time stopped. Megan ran for it. She ran to Hunter. She took her knife out and stabbed the leader right in his back over and over again screaming "please don't kill my mum!" His men ran up to Megan as Hunter started to cry and struggle trying to get out of the ropes around her hands. The man grabbed Megan by her head and stabbed her right in her hip. Hunter stood up and ran to Megan. Her arms were still tied behind her back but she kept running. She pushed the man over and kicked the knife over to me. I rolled over to it and started to rub the rope around my hands on it. Soon the rope came apart and I jumped up tackling the man to the ground. I stabbed him in his head and quickly got up taking Hunters ropes off. She fell to her knees and held Megan as blood dripped out of Megan's mouth.

"Megan! Come on! You're all I've got! Please... Megan? No" Hunter said as Megan stopped moving and making noise.
