SAM
47 DAYS LATER

We have all been in the cell for over a month. But I think the people in the community finally came to their senses. Today we were all going to be let out. We all were eager to stretch our legs and get back on our horses. We all sat down patiently waiting for Finn to walk towards us with the keys. As soon enough we saw him walking towards us. He walked up tthe door and unlocked it.

"Welcome back" Finn said.

Everyone ignored him and walked right past him. We all stretched a little and went straight to our caravans. Brooklyn and I got back to our caravan and saw graffiti all over it saying murder or other things like traitor. I walked up to the door and it looked like it was pried open with a crowbar or something. I opened the door and walked in. The whole place was ruined. It smelt like someone peed in it as well. Brooklyn and I both walked out and sat out front. I saw Jemma and Claire both walking towards us.

"Um, hey Sam. We were wondering if you would like to stay with us for the night possibly longer. Brooklyn you're welcome as well" Claire said holding Jemma's hand.

I stood up and walked over to her.

"Yeah, that would be great. Is that ok with you Brooklyn?" I asked.

"Yeah it's fine" Brooklyn said.

"Cool. We will see you at dinner then" Claire said.

"Thank you" I said as they walked away.

I sat down back next to Brooklyn.

"You hungry?" I asked.

"Starving" Brooklyn said.

We both got up and walked over to the food courts. Everyone was looking at us. Most of them looked scared of us. Some of them looked pissed and angry as well. We walked up to our favourite food stall. The seller looked up at us and stopped in his tracks.

"Could we please get two of you're greatest potato chips please" I said.

"I'm sorry... but I can't sell things to you" the seller said.

"Why not?" I asked.

"It was Finns order. Once you are out of a cell you can't buy anything for three days" the seller said.

Brooklyn and I rolled our eyes and just walked away.

"I think I'm going to talk to my dad about this. I haven't seen him for a while now. He didn't even come down to check on me" I said.

"Ok. You do that I'm going to head over to Claire's, and check out the place" Brooklyn said.

I nodded and we went our seperate ways. I walked all the way up to my dads house and knocked on the door. My dad answers.

"Oh Sam. I forgot you were let out today" he said.

I walked in and he closed the door behind me.

"Why the hell cant we buy anything. How do you except for a few of us to eat?" I asked.

"Hunting" He said.

"We were in that cell for no reason anyway. Finn pushed me into the horde and Owen went into save me. Finns the one who should be in that cell" I said.

"You know by now that Finn has more power then me and I'm the leader" he said.

"Yeah no wonder why. All you do is sit in this room and pretend to look over pages in your book" I said.

"That's not true. I plan the next raids. I look over our food and water resources" he said.

"How much has our food increased or decreased within the time I've been in the cell?" I asked.

"Um. That doesn't matter right now what matters is our next raid" He said.

"What's the point of raiding others. They are just like us. People trying to survive, and you just want to ruin their lives and take that all away from them leaving them nothing?" I said.

"They have the choice to come back here. Do you want to see the next attack or what?" he said.

I walked over. He slowly pointed his finger over to North Adelaide. I was relieved that it wasn't Adelaide Oval.

"North Adelaide is going to be our next target. I don't know when but maybe a week, less or more" he said.

"Why there?" I asked.

"They have a lot of weapons. We found them because they were shooting zombies" he said.

I turned around and began to walk out.

"Sam" my dad said as I was about to walk away.

I turned around to see what he wanted.

"I'll talk to you later ok?" He said.

I nodded and turned back towards the front door. I walked out of my dads house and followed the path towards the caravans. I walked past my old caravan and I continued to followed the path until I made it to Claire's caravan. I walked up to the door and knocked. I could hear laughing on the other side of the wall the door opened and Claire was at the door.

"Oh Sam. Here's your soup. Eat it before it gets too cold" Claire said.

"Thank you" I said.

I walked inside and saw Brooklyn and Jemma both slurping their soup. As Claire sat down I sat down and began to eat. I noticed someone was looking at me so I looked up and saw Jemma staring at me. I smiled at her and continued to eat my soup. Soon my soup was all gone in my stomach and I got up and cleaned the bowl. Claire showed me to my bed which was right next to Brooklyn, and soon I found myself laying on it looking up at the celling. Brooklyn came to bed as well. We both sat their quietly thinking about what happened today. We were glad we were out but to me it felt like we were in their for years. Everything feels completely different. Slowly I closed my eyes and fell a sleep.
