Chapter 30

3 DAYS LATER

I woke up from sleeping on Hunters grave for three days in a row. That's basically all I do. At night I sleep on her grave and in the morning I sit by her grave. I hardly have eaten anything, and it's weird talking to anyone after what I did, and I think Megan could be scared of me. I haven't talked to her and she hasn't talked to me. I haven't even seen her, and my baby. I haven't seen her since I first got here. I slowly stood up as tears still made their way out. I wiped them away and shook my hands. I slowly walked around the oval looking for Samantha. People handed me pieces of fruit that I took and thanked them. I ate them as I walked up to Isabella who was looking after her.

She looked up slowly and saw me walking towards her. She stood up and handed me Samantha. I held her tight. I held her close. I gave her a little kiss on her cheek and I grabbed her little hand with two fingers and played with her. I turned around and faced Isabella.

"Thank you" I said.

"I told you. I would do anything for you" Isabella said.

I smiled a little at her and walked away gently bouncing Samantha up and down in my hands. I walked around the oval about three times with Samantha. She let some steam go. She made me feel a bit better. I then saw Megan sitting up on the stands by herself. I slowly walked up to her.

"Hey baby" I said.

She didn't respond. I sat next to her still holding Samantha.

"Have you held her yet?" I asked.

She nodded no.

"Well here. Just hold her with this arm and rest her neck along your other arm. She doesn't have enough strength yet to lift her own head up. So be careful" I said slowly handing Megan Samantha.

Megan smiled. Tears ran down her face. A few dropping on the baby. I slowly put my hand onto Megan's head. I started to play with her hair like I used to. She slowly rested her head against my shoulder. I kissed her own her forehead. I looked up and saw Gabriella coming up to us.

"Hey" She said.

"Hey" I said.

"How is the little munchkin?" Gabriella said.

"She looks tired" I said.

"You know Ana has her baby as well" Gabriella said.

"Yeah. What did she name her?" I asked.

"Actually he is a boy, and she named him Prince" Gabriella said.

"Nice name" I said.

I lifted Megan's head off of my shoulder slowly and stood up. Megan looked up at me worried.

"It's ok. You're great with her, and if you need help just give her to Gabriella ok?" I said.

"Ok" Megan said.

"Good girl" I said kissing her and Samantha.

I slowly walked down towards the oval.

"Where are you going?" Gabriella asked.

"I need to get some fresh air. Also you guys should do something about the helicopter they may be able to trace it or find it if they fly over. I'll be back" I said.

"Let me come" Gabriella said.

"I need you to look after my baby for me. You need the experience" I said as I can obviously tell she has a little bit of a baby bump now.

I walked away towards the gates, picked up my weapons and walked out. I grabbed a car and drove out. I drove for a long time. Just trying to forget. I couldn't. I would never forget. I stopped the car out front of a store. I got out and walked up to the door. It was a dollar store. I tried to open the door but it didn't open. I kicked it and it flung open. I slowly walked in and saw all sorts of things. I grabbed my bag and grabbed lots of things that we needed. But then I stopped. I stopped at a section with name tags all on the wall, and I saw about three name tags all with Hunter on them.

I picked one up and held it to my chest. I put it into my pocket and spotted one that says Megan as well. I picked that up as well and continued to look around. I picked up a few little stuffed toys for my baby and some other things like paper and pencils. I walked out of the store with my bag full of things. I chucked it into the car and got in. I closed the door and looked ahead down the road. Yet again memories of her go through my head. I punched the wheel. I got out of the car slammed the door. I kicked over a bin and picked it up. I threw it at the stores window and smashed it.

I kicked around a few pieces of rubbish and fell to the ground. I saw a few zombies walking down the road. I've taken the name from the New Order. I laid on the ground waiting for one of them to reach me and just eat me. I wouldn't even care. But as the zombie got up to me I thought of Samantha. I need to keep her alive now. She needs me. As well as Megan. I stood up, grabbed my knife and stabbed it right in its head.

The zombie fell over pushing over a box. I saw what was under the box. It was a beautiful flower in full bloom. I got onto my knees and took it out carefully. I got back into the car holding the flower and drove back to the Adelaide Oval. I saw a few people stripping down the helicopter. I got out still holding the flower and grabbed my bag. I walked in and went straight to Hunters grave. I planted the flower into her grave and searched around my bag for her name tag. I took it out and hung it up on the side of the wood that was marking her grave.

I got up and remembered about Nova my horse. I haven't seen her. I wonder if she's doing ok. I walked over to Claire.

"Hey Claire, do you know where Nova went" I asked.

She turned around and faced me.

"Uh. She um. She ran away. When we got here she just ran for it. Maybe she went to try to find you" Claire said.

"Ok. Thank you" I said.

I walked away and saw Gabriella holding Samantha.

"How's she going?" I asked.

"She's perfect. She never cries" Gabriella said.

"We need to make a play date for Samantha and Prince someday" I said.

"We definitely do. But it would be hard to travel with them" Gabriella said.

"Yeah" I said.

"Here take her" Gabriella said handing me Samantha.

I took her out from her hands and held her. I looked her into her eyes and I was proud. I've always wanted a child. But I've also always wanted a partner to raise it with. I don't know how I'm going to get through this. I guess I'm just gonna have to try my hardest. I guess I have to just keep moving on, somehow.
