• Kaye POV •

"Come on kaye." Dad said. I nodded and we walked out of the hospital and went to the car. "He's going to wake up soon, don't you worry." he told me. I nodded and put my music in.

Music keeps my mind off of things, but for some reason, I couldn't stop thinking

about all of this. I was interrupted when I heard a certain song that brings back memories. It was mine and Hayes' song.

I kept my tears in and just skipped the song. Everything just reminded me of him and it sucked.

When we got to the house, I went straight to Hayes' room and laid on his bed.

The door opened and it was Madison. "I think you need to go out, you know.. to get your mind off of things." She said.

"I can't get my mind off of this, I've already tried." I said.

"No you haven't you're just sitting on your bed, thinking about it and you're most likely blaming yourself." She said. "Well maybe because it is my fault, isn't it always?" I mumbled.

"Yeah, I forgot." She said getting aggravated, but I mean... what does she expect?

"I'm going to get some sleep." I said. She nodded and left my room.

"Kaye?" I heard.

Why can't everyone just leave me alone?

I turned over and saw it was Leo. "I know you don't want to be bothered but I'm leaving and I wanted to tell you you can call whenever you need me." he said.

I got up and hugged him, "I love you."

"Stay strong for me. I love you." he said, kissing my forehead. "I'll try." I said. "No, you won't try.. you will." he said.

I nodded and he left.

I closed the door and laid back down, going to sleep.

• The Next Morning •

I woke up and went to the kitchen. Everyone was sitting at the table. "Good morning." I said quietly, sitting down beside Cameron, leaning my head on his shoulder.

He kissed my head and I lightly smiled.

"How ya feelin?" Dad asked. "A little better, I have more hope than I did going to sleep yesterday." I said.

"That's good." Mom said. "How are his parents?" I asked. "They've had better days, but haven't we all?" Mom asked.

"They hate me don't they? I mean... it's my fault." I said. "Here we go again.. Kaye can you stop, it's not your fault it was Hayes' choice to go in there." Madison raised her voice in annoyance.

"I'm sorry, are you annoyed." I said a little rude. "Yeah, you're sitting her making everyone feel sorry for you. We're all hurting Kaye, but we've all gotten over it and we're just being hopeful so can you stop and do the same." She snapped.

Ouch.

I mean... she was right. I can't just blaming myself, but I can't help it.

"I'll be back later." I rolled my eyes getting up. I went to my room putting my shoes and sweater on, then I grabbed my phone and walked back out.

"Where are you going?" Mom asked. "A walk." I shrugged, "I need to clear my head."

"Don't do anything stupid Kaye." Cameron said. "I won't." I said and left.

I walked down the street, walking towards the hospital.

They didn't want me there because it was making me more stressed, but I can't leave Hayes alone.

I stopped at the bus stop and waited for the bus to come.

I remember when Hayes and I got on the wrong bus and got lost. That day was perfect regardless of the fact we went out of town.

So many things used to be perfect, but that all changed so fast.

My thoughts were cut off by the bus stopping. I got up and walked on. I sat down in a seat and stared out the window.

When I arrived at the hospital, I remembered his room number so I just went up to his room.

I heard soft cries as I got closer. I walked in and Jordan was there, including Hayes' parents and step parents.

(AN: Meaning Nila and John)

"Oh Kaye.." Nila sighed, getting up and hugging me. "How is he doing?" I asked. "It's been the same since yesterday." She said, pulling away.

"Can I go in there?" I asked. she nodded and I went in his room. I took my shoes off and sat on the bed.

"I'm back.." I sighed, looking down at his pale face.

"Everyone is telling me to stop stressing because you're going to be okay, but I can't Hayes... I don't know why, but I have this feeling you're going to be gone soon and it hurts." I said.

"I know I shouldn't think like that, but I can't help it. If you were going to wake up you would have already. you have no reason not to wake up Hayes, you have a whole life ahead of you. you have me... your family... your whole life. Football is your life Hayes, what about that? You even have slutty Jordan.. no offense." I said, laughing a bit at the end.

"I rode the bus today, I didn't get lost." I laughed a little bit, "I knew I wouldn't, it was your fault the last time."

"I couldn't live without you, I hope you know that. Please wake up Hayes." I sighed.

"Visiting hours are over." The nurse said.

I nodded and kissed Hayes' forehead.

"Love you Hayes, I'll be back tomorrow." I said and left.
